Beware, the slow cooker external gets extremely hot when in operation. There is a warning in the instruction manual that needs to be highlighted more on the cooker itself. Energy efficiency must be extremely poor due to the amount of heat lost to the external. Don’t sit it on the bench, it will damage your bench from the heat it emits. I cannot recommend this product

Slow cookers are rather simple in their design, and this one works, but has some flaws. The lid fits well, the materials used are good, the switch is good, and the cord is removable (though I don't recommend always removing it, as the connector is sort of flimsy). The ceramic bowl isn't a good fit with the base though, and this causes a waste of energy. So much so, you can fit 0.5 to 1 cm of aluminum foil to fill the gap. Without it, the bowl can wiggle around inside when it's empty. And what this means is that one side of the inner bowl is going to have sub optimal heat transfer. It's a minor thing, but already this one uses a lot of energy on 'high'.. 290W (measured at the wall).. and this energy wastage doesn't help matters. In other words, this one uses higher wattage to create less heat into the food itself, compared to other ones I've had. This is less of an issue if you use this for 2 hours, you might not even notice but more of an issue for 24 hour use, with bone broth or soups for example. Where the food isn't as cooked as it used to be, but the power bill is still higher. There are cheaper options from other brands that don't have this problem. Other than that, this slow cooker is fine. And it's capacity is adequate for most uses. Maybe the problem above is a one off, but I find it hard to believe. If there was a tight fit between the base and the bowl, I'd say it's near perfect for it's price range.

I slow cook beef brisket. Its my favourite thing in the world . The smell drives my two mastiffs nuts for hours , so to be fair, in the end we have a poodle banquet like no other . The simplicity of the device is like a Swiss watch. Switch on low and let it go. If you want to try recipe I use , marinate in 600ml of Coca Cola (sugar one obviously), a pack of continental French onion soup and BBQ sauce for about 6-8 hours.5/5 would buy again. A

I bought this slow cooker for Mother’s Day! I did a lot of research and I am very happy with this purchase. My mum has used it a few times & it does what it says. Great size for meal prepping too. Only negative feedback from mum would be she wished there was a timer or an automatic switch. The shipping was hopeless & I find Myers customer service pretty hopeless but I am reviewing the slow cooker and it is a great slow cooker!
Good value slow cooker. A little smaller than I am used to but ok for two people. Plus, the smaller size fits into the dishwasher more easily. Its very easy to use with two main settings, low or high. The couple of dishes I have made so far have been delicious.
Just bought this appliance and as of yet I've not used it, but I'm sure it will be a great product. There are 4 essential bits of information missing in the Instruction/Recipe Booklet, that are necessary, to work out successful cooking time. Firstly, what is the Low heat temperature?. (87'C) Secondly, what is the High temperature?. (90'C) Thirdly, what is the Keep Warm temperature? (62'C to 74'C) I just had to ring the Sunbeam helpline to get the temperatures shown in the brackets. I'm surprised there is only 3'C temperature difference between Low and High?. Couldn't find out the weight of the Crock Insert, so I'll have to go and buy some kitchen scales. Couldn't find out the weight of the Crock Insert, so I'll have to go and buy some kitchen scales. You need to know the Crocks weight, because you generally only know the weight of the meat you are putting in for cooking. When you add vegetables and sauces and water etc,, you then have an unknown total cooking weight, but you can work it out to some degree, if you knew the weight of the Crock when empty (and when full). I hope this helps and if someone can supply the Crock weight, it would be greatly appreciated.
I bought this product recently and tried it for the first time on Saturday 27/08/22. The appliance worked well, but there are 4 bits of important information missing from the operating manual. There are no temperature measurements for either heat setting. i.e. What are the temperatures for "Low", "High" and "Keep Warm"?. I had to contact Sunbeam, to get these, as these are important. Low is 87'C, High is 90'C (yes only 3'C difference) and Keep Warm fluctuates between 62'C to 74'C. The other missing information, is the actual weight of the crock insert, because you really need to know this, so that you can accurately calculate the estimated cooking time and heat setting. The crock insert weight is 3.495Kgs (say 3.5Kgs, with lid on, 4.2Kgs). I have now bought some ... MoreI bought this product recently and tried it for the first time on Saturday 27/08/22. The crock insert weight is 3.495Kgs (say 3.5Kgs, with lid on, 4.2Kgs). I have now bought some kitchen scales, so that I can weigh my crock insert when full with whatever is placed in it. I bought scales measuring up to 15Kgs, but I suggest kitchen scales measuring to at least 10Kgs. When you measure/weigh the filled crock insert, you then know your total cooking weight and so you can then fairly accurately guess the correct cooking time and heat setting. I hope this helps in eliminating the under cooked and over cooked food.
This an excellent appliance for doing what it says on the label. Meats and meals are cooked to perfection and retain all the taste and goodness. The crockpot is an ideal size for a small family and it’s good to be able to remove the power cord thus enabling the complete slow cooker to be placed on a heat proof mat on the table. The only deficiency is there’s no timer to switch from hot to warm so one needs to be prepared to do this manually. This can a pain if you’re not going to home when it finishes cooking. It’s easy to clean and a reasonable cost so if you can always be there to switch it off then I’d recommend it wholeheartedly.
Works like it should and fits a lot in even though it's the smallest one I could find. Serves 6-8 if you fill it. Great recipes in the included booklet too. The only thing is that mine had a funny electrical burning smell and even a bit of smoke coming out from the knob part when I first used it. I thought it was defective but eventually it ceased after I left it cooking bone broth overnight. A lovely companion to healthy cooking.
We have had this for years and used it often to great effect. That said we wanted to cook Gillette's and needed to know roughly the temperature setting for keep warm, low and high. nothing on the website to assist us so it looks like using the inner crock pot in the oven will give us the best outcome. I would have thought that temp was important rather than ambiguous settings. High marks for the product, low for the website information on the product.
