Sunbeam KE6310 1.7L Quantum Stainless Kettle

Very noisy. Drowns out radio and talking. Too high to fit under swinging tap, something my last Sunbeam jug did perfectly and I thought this one would be the same, as it holds the same amount of water. The minimum water level guide is very hard to read. I wouldn't buy this kettle again although I would buy Sunbeam, as my last one lasted many years and I only stopped using it because it was plastic, which I decided, wasn't the best idea as trace amounts may leach into the water.

Bit disappointed with this jug. It works but...plastic lid gives off plasticky smell when hot from boiling water, 500ml is the minimum water level and it dosent shut off immidieatly after reaching boiling and continues to boil for a while. Compared to my old no name jug its loud and my old jug would shut off immediately after reaching boiling point, saving electricity.

Am waiting for a replacement kettle as the lid doesan't open properly.

Don't like the plastic water guage as it is really difficult to read the water content. Now where as good as the older kettle which had a perspex one. Also the shape has change with wider base meaning you have to put more water in when wanting minimum water. Wouldn't buy this again.

Does the job fine.

This is an OK electric kettle & does the job just fine, bought from Good Guys. The water level is very clear to see (unlike what others have said) & the cable is conveniently coiled in the base & can easily be uncoiled for the desired length (some people have complained about it being too short because they didn't read the user manual or look). The lid release button does require a little pressure which may be not ideal for someone with arthritis but functions fine otherwise. I am quite happy with it (after another brand's handle cracked on two of them).

Does what it should do, boil water. A little loud but other then that, it just as good as the more expensive Breville soft touch which started leaking water after a couple years out of the water display window. The snbeam is good reliable brand and so far no complaints. I am happy with the product

New kettle!

Happy with this kettle. Good medium price. Stainless steel so should last. Can see water level. Boils quickly.

Some pros and a big con

The features of the kettle that I like are its ease of use, its quick boil and its good looks. However the fast boil comes with a huge problem. The kettle is so loud that it drowns out the television, even with the sound turned up and conversation with someone not in your immediate vicinity is impossible. I would give up the fast boil for a quieter kettle.

Sunbeam Quantum Stainless Steel Kettle

My other kettle broke so I had to replace it quickly. This Sunbeam kettle does the job nicely and was a very good price. the only negative is it is loud compared to my previous kettle. Other than this small issue, it's a nice kettle and boils the water for my coffees and teas.

Works well and looks O.K.

I bought this kettle to replace the old Sunbeam (6300?) which had sprung a leak. This kettle works well. The lid is a little stiff to open, but that will presumably loosen up. Has the on/off switch as a lever at the base, when I preferred the push button further up the handle. Has only one (somewhat opaque!) water-level viewing window, which means it is best filled by holding in the right hand, otherwise the water level cannot be seen (The old kettle had a viewing window on both sides).

Its got nothing special about it, but it is noisy when boiling. When it is on we cannot hear the tv in the adjoining room, until it is boiled and switches off. I checked other brands on the shelf when purchasing this one, but none indicated in the features "quiet when boiling'. So I just bought one that wasn't too expensive. Our last one was the same and it really annoyed us if we were eating a meal and wanted to hear a headline or something important coming on the tv.
