Writing as a customer from EU, purchased the Pie Magic® Traditional Size 4 Up pie maker in Australia, since nothing as comparable and as convenient is to be found in EU, believe it or not. To the best om my knowledge, this pie maker is unfortunately not available in Europe, and it eludes me completely why.As for one of the previous reviews, I wholeheartedly disagree with the assesments made in that review. My problem was the opposite, any other model of the pie maker on the market either had place for two pies, or to small slots for the pies to be considered as a practical and convenient device. One model in UK had 4 slots, but way too small diameter of the pies, in my opinion, and for my needs... With that UK model, you spend the same amount of time and work for pies that are about 1/4 or 1/3 of the size, and for me it is sometning simply not worth the time and effort, not practical at all.Sunbeam pie maker's pie slots are of the ideal size. Just perfect, the balance between the amount of filling, pastry needed, the amount of work vs. the size of the batch of the 4 pies is just ideal. This pie maker is simple, well thought out and strikes one as a quality item. It is also unique at the 240V market with it's combination of features. It is, as I have said earlier, a complete mystery to me why this item is not sold or made available for purchase outside of Australia, locally at EU market, or internationally.Pastry cutter is something that makes preparation much faster and easier as well.Wouldn't hesitate a single second to buy another one when and if needed!

I have this pie makes as a Christmas gift. Mine was a gift too. Unless someone recommends this item it may not be high on your priority list. Its great for using up leftover stew, chicken, bolognese etc. vary by adding chutneys, herbs etc. Im giving one to my primary school aged grandsons so they can have fun making pies. Can use frozen pastry sheets to keep things fast and simple.

You can only get 1 pie out of a sheet of pastry. Or at best, 3 pies out of 2 sheets if you patch the scraps together.I guess I'm going to have to find a different brand of pastry now.Pies cook nice and evenly. They're a bit fiddly to get out of the machine with the design of the top edge. Be careful not to scratch the coating with your knife.

Very happy. Compared to other pie makers I’ve owned in the past, this is the most superior.Pros:-Cooks all 4 very evenly-more consistent than oven-deep dish like a standard Aussie pie- No overspill of bubbling gravy when cooking causing brown stains on the crusts-also works well if using puff pastry only as a pie base and top.Cons:The only con is the pie cutter isn’t that sharp. Have to really push the cutter in and even then you don’t get a nice clean cut.Wish it came with a spatula of some sort to remove the hot cooked pie.Overall very happy and I love my new pie maker
Am loving the ease and versatility, quick to bake 4 great size pies for hungry teens. Stores away easily standing or lying. No idea why one key thing has been overlooked! - the pie cutter for bottoms is too big to get more than one complete cutout from a sheet of ready made frozen pastry (in Australia at least). Means lots of pastry waste and fiddling around patching together a second base from one sheet...The cutter needs to be clear (not solid white) so you can see where you are placing it on the pastry sheet when cutting out multiple tops - this would be more efficient in time and reducing pastry waste...Had some issues with shortcrust tops not browning but staying blonde - because the shortcrust doesn't puff up into the top dome - easily remedied by using a bit ... MoreAm loving the ease and versatility, quick to bake 4 great size pies for hungry teens. Great pie maker. Good size, plenty of depth for filling. Perfect pies every time.Have tried with both normal and gluten free frozen pastry sheets, and homemade pastry, all work really well. Being able to make four pies at a time is great when the family are around, or make a batch and freeze them for later, is a great advantage.Looking forward to experimenting with different fillings. So far have been making variations of curry vegetable pies. Grandkids love them. But anything goes, get creative. The unit is sturdy but easy to use and clean, plus it is reasonably priced. Recommend.
Wish I had bought this earlier!! Great pie maker. Easy to use, easy to wash and easy to store. Looks nice and makes lovely fresh pies. We use it at least once a week. I use store puff pastry and have made both savoury and sweet pies. Makes 4 big pies at a time. Would highly recommend this amazing product.
I love my Sunbeam pie maker. If I ever cook too much dinner, the next night I put the left overs in the pie maker and everyone loves them. 4 pies in 12 minutes is amazing. They come out looking AMAZING !!!I highly recommend this pie maker. If I had to list a negative, the non stick surface has started to wear off in one of the pie dishes. That said, I have made many hundreds of pies before this started to happen. I still think buying this pie maker id one of the best kitchen purchase I have made in years.
Product is excellent, the pies are fairly large compared to other pie makers. So , you will be using more pastry. You will only get two base pastry cuts out of one sheet, and around three for the cover pastry. So, if you don’t want to waste pastry, you will have to bring the off cuts together and roll them out again. The only thing I don’t really like, is that the pie cutter cuts the base pastry with small lines to help the pastry mould in the pie maker. I can see why they did it, but it just means you have to make sure you seal these edges so the pie doesn’t leak.
Makes great pies, really happy with it, some of the instructions are insane, put the pastry in cold piemaker and add 5 mins to cook time so no burned fingers, as long as you seasoned it properly, I haven't had any problems. With pastry sheets you can only get 1 base piece per sheet so you're better off getting the cheaper blocks of pastry and rolling it yourself. It makes a nice sized pie. Thanks Folders, yet again best price, great service.
