Shinjir? Torii first opened Torii Shten in early 1899 in Osaka as an imported wine store. He changed the name to Kotobukiya company in 1921 as the business continued to scale and evolve its offering and eventually became Suntory in 1963 as a combination of a reference to the sun and an anglicized spelling of Torii’s name. Suntory AO is a 43% ABV Blended Japanese Whisky that brings together 5 different whiskies from Ireland, Scotland, the USA, Canada and Japan, and is bursting with aromas of banana, tropical vanilla cream and orange peel, flowing velvet – smooth across the palate with a little smokey spice for a woody, vanilla finish.

Always a favourite.

It seems a little harsh to me. I prefer "soft" single malt whiskeys from Scotland or Japan. Don't like bourbon whiskies. So this seems like bourbon.

This drink goes down easy without much aftertaste, surprisingly delightful

Hard to find in Australia so had to buy it here
I like this bottle. But. To me I didn’t experience the blended taste I expected. On my palate it is Scotch-forward and noses and tastes like a 14 or 15 year Glenlivet which IMHO is good whisky, but I was expecting something more unique. Plan to share this bottle to see what others think. Not sure what percentage each nationality gets in this blend, but perhaps the Scotch % is higher than the others or just naturally rises to the top. Bottom line: very drinkable and enjoyable. I only had it neat and aired it out in the glass for a few minutes before tasting. Perhaps the other components would present more with some water or ice.
This Whisky is totally worth every penny. If you like Toki just think of how much better this would be. I had planned on saving the whole bottle but I'm down to half now.
I brought this for my husband. He loves it.
Not as good as Toki. Very scotch forward and not as smooth as I’d hoped.
Great addition to the collection if you love Japanese whiskey
It was ok but not great. I think that there were to many flavours. Would not spend my money on it again. Rob R
