On a windy day the 30cm sand pegs kept coming out when trying to set up a beach shade. Had to use the 30cm steel begs that were included with the beach shade to tie down. Will look to order the 49cm ones to see if it will make a difference

These tent pegs are brilliant.There well made and super strong. They hold excellent in sandy grounds.Camping on the beach dunes, my tent was very secure even during windy conditions.Very happy and highly recommended..

We can not be without our sand pegs, we travel a lot in our van outback and near the beach.They are great for loose soil also.At present we are at home and still need to use them as we put our shade cloth from the van onto the side of our carport. When we head off again travelling, the shade cloth comes off and goes back to the van for the trip. Sand pegs are quite versatile.

This was used on a recent camping trip of ours to Narooma where the ground is very sandy and when the weather turned into an ugly beast with winds that blew very heavily, thunder, lightening and really heavy rainfall. This item kept things from flying away, such as tent and gazebo. Fabulous product.
After some initial problems of identifying the top of the top of the peg and having it the wrong way around, I went on to you-tube and was pleasantly surprised with the number of excellent peg demonstration videos. At first i must admit I was a little skeptical of this plastic device, but I am now completely onboard with this marvel of modern technology that is, the peg.
To be honest, I was expecting too much from these pegs. In firm sand, they pulled out when tensioning and when the wind blew more strongly. In soft sand with no wind and no tension on the guy rope they might be OK. Not sure I would want to carry the longer pegs due to space constraints. In firmer ground, they work fine. We had a shower tent installed in the back yard during bathroom renos, and they held in a 50-60km/hr wind, mind you that was into firm loamy lawn.
Good and tough, would use again. However came out of the ground with strong winds heavy rain. I had to pretty much hammer flush with the ground for them not to come out.
A little expensive but they are strong and supported my oztrail gazebo in sand conditions during an 8 night camp. Got a couple of windy days and used gazebo walls but the pegs held firm. Worth getting these longer 500mm pegs.Can hammer them in with a rubber mallet. Can tie off guide ropes or hook looped ropes around also.
Solid produce no flash and bling, works as designed. Used over the Dec in the wind in QLD and held in place well. Round eye and hook are sound with some give in the plastic so not brittle like others and snap when loaded. Make sure nothing solid in the sand as these will bend/flex if driven into something like a rock.
