On a windy day the 30cm sand pegs kept coming out when trying to set up a beach shade. Had to use the 30cm steel begs that were included with the beach shade to tie down. Will look to order the 49cm ones to see if it will make a difference

We were off to Cape Peron just north of Denham for a couple of weeks camping and fishing. Camping near the beach can have its challenges at the best of times but the wind can make it hard to keep your tent upright. The choice to buy the big sand pegs sold St BCF was a winner as the wind blew strong on several nights and our tent remained solid as a rock. Knocked in with the special hammer also sold at BCF they go in easy and deep and when your finished a couple of taps and they just slide out. Trust me when I say if your going to camp on or near the beach then your going to need these sand pegs. Best choice ever.

Got these for free with a bcf voucher in an email, so I really can’t fault value, would have happily payed double even Triple the 0$ it cost me.Has so many features I don’t know where to start, the 490mm length means you can drive this peg deep into the sand which truly anchors down your tarp/tent/gazebo. The wide wings on the shaft also means it won’t move side to side in the sand and wiggle it’s way out, good size surface area on top to be able to easily strike with your wheel spanner because you forgot to bring a hammer and generous size hole to thread your guy rope through for those who thought it was a good idea to have a few chardonnays before setting up camp. Essential when camping in sandy areas. Hold much better than normal steel tent pegs.
These sand pegs worked well. Camped right on the coast last weekend & experienced extreme wind and rain in an overnight thunderstorm. Sand pegs held tight. No worries there.
Ill use these pretty much everywhere. Work brilliant in sand but also dirt, mud, clay etc. Perefct for the awning or tent. You may have to dig them out if hitting into dirt, they hold that well
To be honest, I was expecting too much from these pegs. In firm sand, they pulled out when tensioning and when the wind blew more strongly. In soft sand with no wind and no tension on the guy rope they might be OK. Not sure I would want to carry the longer pegs due to space constraints. In firmer ground, they work fine. We had a shower tent installed in the back yard during bathroom renos, and they held in a 50-60km/hr wind, mind you that was into firm loamy lawn.
Rubbish .... head broke with the first tap ... brittle..not great when you are camping on Fraser Is in the sand and these were bought especially for this purpose. They were replaced after they had to be returned to the manufacturer when blind Freddy can clearly see that they cracked/snapped clean off . rubbish product
I bought some of these pegs for a 4wd beach trip I recently went on and I'm so glad I did, we ended up getting gale force winds just as we were heading to bed, luckily we were able to pack down our vehicle awnings but we had a 3x3 gazebo that we lowered to the low height and repegged with these, it held the gazebo perfectly no matter the strength of wind. Needs a mallet or hammer to smack in but they held in amazingly. They were easy to get back out of the ground too by shoveling the sand out from around it by hand then pulling them up. Would definitely recommend.
