I must admit I got so into this game. Hehe 🤣😅 it is truly fun and challenging and most certainly brings back some great childhood memories for me and hopefully it will for you too. If not and you've never really played Mario games oh I definitely recommend them to anyone and everyone it's portable as you can see it's a chip that goes into our Nintendo Switch. The picture quality is amazing, such cool and also tricky graphics it really is so cool. It's very durable, great long lasting batter life and it's affordable as far as Nintendo Switch games go. If you hasn't played this one I recommend it. If you have any questions please feel free to ask away, I am happy to help in any and every way possible. I love this game. It give me so much nostalgia thinking about when I used to play Super Mario Bros on Nintendo DS and the Wii. I have neither now since I gave away my DS and the Wii stopped working completely. I was so sad until about two or so years ago when I received a switch. Having a Nintendo device while playing this game brought me back! I love the combination of older features with the new game like the worlds, characters, and similar plot. However, the newer graphics are so aesthetically pleasing and the overall gameplay is awesome. I’ve already been playing it for four hours. I definitely do agree with other reviews that the levels are a little easier than they used to be. I’ll start this review by saying I am a 35 yr old grown man that usually plays FPS games like Call of Duty , Battlefield etc… Once I started this game I couldn’t put down my Switch until I beat it. I’ve always had a soft spot though for Mario games as it’s something my whole family would play together in my childhood. Super Mario Bros. Wonder is a fantastic game that brings back those memories and has that awesome side scrolling feel while still feeling fresh and modern. There’s nods to the classic games with some new abilities which makes the game very fun - and offers a ton of different ways to play. The game’s graphics are stunning, with bright colors and vivid animations that bring the Flower Kingdom to life especially if you’re playing on the OLED model. The gameplay is super smooth and the online feature is such a good idea and helps out with those very difficult levels - without worrying about kids experiencing a public chat. It’s helpful to play with the online mode activated because if you die you can fly over to another player that’s in the same level as you and have them revive you. It has been an absolute hit in my house with friends and even my retired father getting slightly addicted to beating it lol.The game is a perfect mix of classic and new, with a variety of enemies and stages that are sure to keep you entertained for hours. You can also switch between characters when a level is too challenging. It’s very helpful when you keep dying to something and you can decide to switch to Yoshi or Toad or Princess Peach and not take damage unless you’re crushed or fall into a pit. Switching characters doesn’t reset progress either so that’s very helpful.Overall, Super Mario Bros. Wonder is a MUST play game for fans of the Mario franchise. It’s a fun and engaging game that is sure to provide hours of entertainment and repeat playable content.

I don’t know what to say that hasn’t been said yet. This game deserves all the accolades and praise it has received. As a lifelong Mario fan, it seems that Mario is at its best when it’s at its weirdest…and this game is weird! From beginning to end, you never know what you’re going to see. It really must be experienced for yourself. Is it perfect, no…but the flaws don’t take away from the overall enjoyment at all. The new badge system is not particularly interesting, falling far short of potential. You’ll find one or 2 badges you like and stick with them. The game is easy and relatively short for the price…you could “100%” this game in 15 hours or so and finish the story in far less time than that. The last thing I’ll say which I think is unique to this Mario ... MoreI don’t know what to say that hasn’t been said yet. This game deserves all the accolades and praise it has received. The last thing I’ll say which I think is unique to this Mario game…the last few “challenge” levels are flat-out unfair. I say that as previous Mario’s have had challenging levels, but you always knew why you failed, and always got a hint of what was coming so you could prepare for your next attempt. Not this one. You can easily fail dozens of times at the exact same point without getting a clear sense of what to change on your next run. Incredibly frustrating and not fun.If Mario Wonder is an indication of where the series goes in the future, then I’m an all in.

This is by far the best 2D mario that I've experience in my life. The game itself is fun and creative in many ways of playing each level within the worlds. The thing I do like the most is how colorful and creative each level is and how the background of said levels don't look like the typical overworld background, like in other 2d mario games. One of things I did like what refrences to prior mario games in terms of musics and sounds within certain levels. Now on to the things I didn't like and its only a few minor ones. One of the things I didn't like was how short the levels felt and thats even with the wonder flower effect happening. I felt like they should've made these levels a little bit longer in terms of playing them. I also felt like there wasn't enough main levels within the worlds. Like I felt within each world half the levels were either time attack levels, badge challenge levels and then the rest would be the typical world levels. I also felt a lot of the badge challenges were repetative and were a little to hard to beat. I also didn't like how nintendo took away the score tally that they've always had on a 2d mario game. I do like how they also took away the timer that way we can have more time within each level. Another thing I'm so glad nintendo did away with was autoscrolling levels. I couldn't stand those in a 2d mario game and was so glad to not have it in this game. Overall I really enjoy playing this game with the exception of a few levels. Oh another thing I didn't care far was the palace boss battle, which was really just bowser jr over and over, and again it felt repetative and didn't feel any different from playing it on the DS or any other platform. I do hope down the line that Nintendo does release DLC for this game and add in more levels and no badge challenges. Oh and speaking of badges, the invisibility one wasn't one I wouldn't want in any game. I felt like I couldn't beat or play any levels that required that featured.

Having grown up on the NES and SNES, I was happy to see an entirely new 2D entry in the mainline mario series. After the phenomenal Super Mario Odyssey easily became my family's favorite video game during the pandemic, we were somewhat disappointed with the remakes that have been released since. It was an easy choice to pre-order Super Mario Wonder, but I was doubtful the experience could compare to Odyssey, despite more emphasis on co-op play.Gameplay:From the start screen, the essence of Mario games is captured perfectly in Super Mario Wonder. It was an easy choice to pre-order Super Mario Wonder, but I was doubtful the experience could compare to Odyssey, despite more emphasis on co-op play.Gameplay:From the start screen, the essence of Mario games is captured perfectly in Super Mario Wonder. Levels oscillate between familiar terrains and novel landscapes. Most mario games offer something new that at first seems like it will disrupt the always-solid platforming experience and genius level design hallmark to 2D mario adventures. Wonder includes several new power-ups, an overwhelming number of one-at-a-time badges provide a small change in-stage, and the wonder flower induces brief level-warping or mario-warping mini-challenges. None of these are affect the game on the level of Oydssey's Cappy or Mario Sunshine's FLUDD. However, they are all interesting and worthy additions. They also allow for a solo base difficulty that is decidedly more challenging (as you get further into the game) than many other 2D Mario games. Yet, the game (as you would expect) is adaptive to a wide range of player skill because of the co-op, invincible characters (that don't need to be unlocked), new power-ups, and badges. Still, I do miss the simplicity of the platforming challenges hallmark to Mario games, which aren't quite as much on display here as compared to collecting star coins in New Super Mario Bros.Graphics:Graphically, the game delivers as much as the hardware allows. Detailed environments and distinct aesthetics for each world are evident. It can be a bit busy, but always fun. The level of polish is as good as any Mario game, which already sets the bar high. Character animations, character model design, enemy design, and effects, all add greatly to the experience.Controls:The controls, for the most part, are what you'd expect from a Mario title: reliable. Yet, during some platforming, my kids experienced issues they blamed on lagging response. It could have been that they were sitting too far from the Switch or that they are kids. I didn't notice any issues with input lag or imprecision. I also love that Nintendo just 2 core (run and jump) buttons are needed most of the time, supplementing with the top-right bumper button (or, alternatively, shaking the control) on occasion.Co-op:The co-op mode is where "Super Mario Wonder" truly attempts to bridge the generational gap. Collaborating with my children, combining our abilities to face challenges, is a great way to spend time together. The characters that don't receive damage from enemies make it easy for novices to contribute to the progress and keep up with more advanced players.Overall Assessment:Super Mario Wonder delivers on combining many of the most beloved and nostalgiac components of former 2D Mario adventures while avoiding the trap of feeling like an updated version of a previous game. My kids enjoyed the new features more than I did, with my 8-year old laughing hysterically every time I hop along as a crouched elephant Mario. I'll update as we continue our adventure...

This game, along with many other 2D & 3D Nintendo Platformers, has met and exceeded my expectations for a Super Mario game. This game inspires creativity and has elements never seen before in a Mario adventure before. It is incredibly fun and has a wide range & diversity of characters to choose from. I really love this game's incorporation of happy and positive elements throughout the levels, and all of the colorful scenery, which I find to be the best aspect of this game. Conclusively, this game is great for families with tons of kiddos -- you can play multi-player with up to four people but will require additional controllers. It supports cooperation, sends positive messages, and has the ability to make the game less challenging for those younger kiddos who are fans, this game is the perfect addition to your household and provides countless hours of entertainment.

I've been looking forward to this game for months! I started playing it last night and OH MAN! This game is absolutely gorgeous for starters. It's one of the prettiest games on switch. This is what 2D Mario should be all the time. This game made me laugh out loud so many times. The level design is so much fun, and the detail is incredible. I also LOVE how many characters you can select from. I chose Luigi to start my first run through and I'm so glad i did. My advice to anyone who picks up and plays this game is to take your time. There's so much to see. To sum it up this is a MUST BUY!!! Sure, would i like the difficulty to be a little more challenging? Yes, but that's the only thing and it doesn't really bother me. I've been playing Mario games since Super Mario ... MoreI've been looking forward to this game for months! I started playing it last night and OH MAN! This game is absolutely gorgeous for starters. There's so much to see. To sum it up this is a MUST BUY!!! Sure, would i like the difficulty to be a little more challenging? Yes, but that's the only thing and it doesn't really bother me. I've been playing Mario games since Super Mario World. If this is the direction 2D Mario is headed SIGN ME UP!

[Rewarded Review] Super Mario World for the Super Nintendo, but new!
28 October 2023

This game exceeded my expectations for a Mario side-scrolling game. Some previous iterations of Mario games have been hit or miss for me, but this one scratched the itch perfectly. Felt very reminiscent to Super Mario World for the Super Nintendo.Introduced very fun mechanics to spin the side-scrolling genre for a new loop, and it was exciting to discover each one! Future Mario Maker levels are going to be insane if they put some of these new mechanics into the next Mario Maker game.Game has plenty of varying difficulty on levels, but nearly never feels like its something you're unprepared for. I recommend the online features for all ages. There are a few levels that having others around to help becomes super helpful and very funny sometimes. Having the online features turned on doesn't change how you complete the levels, and will not interfere in solo play. Also the online features are perfectly safe for players of all ages as well, as there are no chat functions, save for the 4 emojis that other players can see. A smiley face, musical notes, a question mark, and a megaphone. As of writing this, I have completed bowsers castle, but turns out, I still have probably over 15 levels left to play! Love this game!

[Rewarded Review] The True Sequel To Super Mario World (SPOILERS)
6 November 2023

I have not been THIS excited about a new Mario game since the release of Super Mario World with the Super Nintendo 32 years ago. This game is what I fondly refer to as a "Christmas Morning Game" - It is a perfect holiday title, be it for yourself or your kids...or let's face it, BOTH, lol! The visuals the game offers are stunning! There is some new sound design, just like what we had with Super Mario World. The game also takes a page out of Super Mario Bros. 2's book with the character selection. Unfortunately, the characters play pretty much the same, save for the Yoshi's and Nabbit. There are some new power-ups to discover and many challenging new enemies. The Badge mechanic is also a welcome addition. In short, I love this game. In fact, I'm playing it as I'm writing this review. I'm at the "Fluff-Puff Peaks Special Climb to the Beat" course and my goodness is it difficult (I mean, they gave it FIVE stars for a reason, lol). Speaking of difficulty, I want to address a couple of personal "cons" that don't diminish the gameplay at all, just a personal wishlist.First, we should have another 30-40 courses. This game was way too fun and thus, way too short. Second, I really wanted certain enemies to return - Shyguy, Snifit, Chargin' Chuck, and a few others, I wanted more bosses, not just the Koopalings (they're sitting this one out, anyway). Birdo, Fry Guy, Mouser, Tryclyde, Clawgrip, Petey Piranha, Boom-Boom, and even Wart would have made a great addition to the game's bosses (namely Bowser Jr. and Bowser). Maybe, they'll be in a DLC or a sequel in the near future, Who knows? Anyway, the real question you're asking is "Should I get this game?" And my answer to you would be "Why don't you have this already? GO GET IT!"
