I was so excited to finally play this game and it did not disappoint. The graphics are absolutely stunning in the game and I love the whole story! It’s definitely a “thinking” game for me and I had to use my brain a lot in certain areas. In that way I think it’s great for memory for anyone of any age. I loved that each story section had a lot of classic Mario games in between which brought back great memories of playing older games. Till today this is still my favorite Mario game and can’t wait to play it all over again!

It has so many levels the game is challenging and the colors and animation is excellent. I always have to do things a couple of times to get through a level but in in end i make it somehow. My grandkids make it look so easy. Ha ha but I still enjoy this games slot . It helps keep me young. It's a great tool for your memory and coordination .

Super Mario Odyssey a Nintendo switch let me just say that this was a five star rating game and I was so happy to be able to play it and I’m glad I could help make a review for it. The game brought a lot of nostalgia from me playing the super Mario 64 game as well as the super Mario galaxy and sunshine game. The graphics were very high-quality and the movement as well as the upload and performance of the game impressed me and it was enjoyment of playing it each and every single time that I started the game. this game also dried and the connection from the past and also games that are connected into the tendo world so I was glad to be able to reminisce even further. I will recommend to others and I will remain to keep this game to play for hopefully years to come.

Decent game. Difficult for little kids
23 May 2023

It’s probably the best Mario game for the Nintendo Switch. I’d have to say there’s quite a lot to do. Sadly the second player is just the hat. Instead of having a normal character. I haven’t yet gotten all the stuff you have to collect. I’ve probably got that part half finished. It’s a little difficult for beginners as the game gets harder as you progress. The story is kinda strange.Like why did Bowser want to marry Peach on the Moon? Also how are they able to breath without oxygen but in the ocean kingdom you can drown when you first get there. The graphics are really good.

Got my son hooked on vidya games. Not sure if...
3 June 2022

well, it was bound to happen. The kids got into Nintendo. Previously, my son played Lego City on XBOX & would watch me play some Forza. On occasion I'd pull out the PS3 and play some Marvel vs Capcom... but I decided he was ready for Mario, Animal Crossing, and Zelda and HO BOY what a rabbit hole we fell into. Since then we've gotten the other Mario Switch games (Maker 2, Paper, 3D All-Stars, etc)... gotten into ROMs, custom Flash games... I suppose cosplay & mushroom-induced hallucinations inside a labyrinth of pipes & toadstools is the logical next step. Anyway, this game is PERFECT: the controls, the music, the gameplay. Previous Mario 3D games seem so janky compared to this, or maybe I'm just bad at old Mario 3D games. Odyssey is one of the greatest games I've ... Morewell, it was bound to happen. Odyssey is one of the greatest games I've ever played, and it made my son appreciate Nintendo as one of our civilizations' greatest brands in human history (I'm not exaggerating. Think about it. Sony, Xbox, all good too, but Nintendo is NINTENDO, man).

Must Have

What can I say? It's the Mario platform adventure title for the best selling Nintendo of all time. Graphics are amazing, the game control is great, the design of the levels are awesome and it's super fun as Mario takes on the likeness of all kinds of different characters. You can pretty much separate this game into two different categories of difficulty. As you play through the game and chase Bowser across the globe the gameplay is pretty simple and relaxing. As a 30+ year old dude, don't judge me I'm a life long Mario fan, the main challenges were easy to accomplish and it was easy to progress to the next worlds. I was able to play along side with both my 9 year old and 13 year in 2 player mode, they are both typically terrible at video games so it was nice to be ... MoreWhat can I say? After defeating Bowser the challenges became more difficult and sometimes precise controls are required. While this is more frustrating it is also challenging so if you are looking for a fun relaxing title to enjoy or need the challenge of finding every last moon piece. There's also plenty of fun side challenges along the way. This is a must play for any Mario fan or frankly anyone who owns a Switch.

Not Mario Odyssey, Fake game cartridge inside!!!
8 January 2023

Buyer beware!!! Received fake game cartridge!! I bought this for my 5 year old who’s been asking for it all year. She was so excited to finally open it this morning. I opened the package and handed it to her and I heard my 12 year old yell “that’s not Mario Odyssey!” They brought the game to show me and the cartridge is completely fake. Doesn’t even have the metal part on the back for the system to read the game. I don’t understand how Walmart is selling fake games. I didn’t buy this from a private seller on Walmart either. It came directly from Walmart.

One of Mario's Best
30 June 2023

Mario Odyssey is a game that particularly fits well with the Switch's handheld nature because you're constantly being rewarded with moons and other collectibles throughout your journey. Most other Mario games have their missions built with longer sessions in mind (which I personally prefer), but there is definitely merit in the way this game is structured. The movement options are fluid, the bosses are well designed, and the capture mechanic helps set Odyssey apart from the other 3D Mario games. If you're looking to get someone into 3D platformers, Odyssey is a great entry to start with.

The definitive Mario game on Switch.

Possibly one of the best 3D Mario games ever made for fans old or young. The Cappy capture feature is innovative despite only working on certain hatless enemies, the environments are varried, and range from realistic, to strange, and quirky. The game is surprisingly more cinematic, with more story scenes, (and occasionally some unexpected twists) between levels, which is a great, and doesn't overdo the game with too much dialogue like some RPGs do.The game is full of nods to classic Mario, (especially the outfits) without feeling too focused on nostalgia. The enemy, and boss battles are well designed, and epic. (Especially, the final boss.) I won't spoil anything, but one boss is very unexpected for a Mario game.If you have Amiibo, you can unlock certain outfits ... MorePossibly one of the best 3D Mario games ever made for fans old or young. The enemy, and boss battles are well designed, and epic. (Especially, the final boss.) I won't spoil anything, but one boss is very unexpected for a Mario game.If you have Amiibo, you can unlock certain outfits with them, (like the Dr. Mario Amiibo gives you a doctor's outfit, and the normal Mario gives you Mario's classic red overalls from the original SMB) but don't fret, as all Amiibo content are unlockable without them. One slight criticism is, there are a few abilities you can only use when using the motion controls of the detached JoyCon controllers, (such as throwing your hat straight up, or homing attacking enemies) but they aren't necessary to enjoy. And having loved the Galaxy games, sometimes the motion controls are fun for those that liked them back then, but you can use only buttons too if you want.Another minor annoyance is, many of the post-ending unlockable costumes, require too many gold coins to unlock. (That's in-game collectable currency coins. Thank God there are no microtransactions.) But there are ways to grind for gold coins like any game. The multiplayer option is nice, and you can either have 2 players both take turns controlling Mario, or have a second player fully play as Mario's new sidekick Cappy. I had alot of fun playing the game with my nephew.I highly recommend the game for any Mario fan, definitely among the top Switch games, every Switch owner or Mario fan must play.

To the Moooon!!!!

So I've seen gamplay on this game for years, but I wasn't sure on getting a Switch at the time. Then I got the OLED model a few weeks ago and I'm glad I was able to play this. This is very much my favorite 3D Mario platformer since Sunshine and I like how the gameplay and graphics are very polish. Cappy is my favorite companion buddy since F.L.U.D.D. from Sunshine as the concept of taking over other people and creatures. Sadly, much like F.L.U.D.D., Mario is kinda nerfed without Cappy as that there are certain moves he can't pull without a powerup, in this case the spinning attack like he could pull off in the Galaxy games. But it shouldn't be too much of an issue. I also like how open ended the game is on what power moons you can get unlike the previous titles as ... MoreSo I've seen gamplay on this game for years, but I wasn't sure on getting a Switch at the time. Some of the levels are challenging, but they do give you an experience once you master it.
