To replace, unscrew/remove the frame with the flap attached from the area it has been installed into. Sit one flap hinge in place and then wedge a screwdriver between the long edge of the flap and the inner edge of the frame to expand the frame enough for the other hinge to slot back in. I just recently had this particular doggie door installed with a new door purchased at a big box store. My dog hates it due to the hard plastic flap and refuses to use it. In our previous home, the doggie door had a soft flap and that was never a problem for her. Any possibility of changing the flap out to a softer, bendable flap?

I was so pleased I didn’t have to replace the whole doggy door. I have 3 small dogs who slam through the door on a regular basis, but it’s tough. The team was really helpful with my purchase so I bought 2 flaps just in case. Thanks guys, it’s a great doggy door for my fly screen.

This was one of the few large dog doors that would suit the size we needed, and it came with useful locking mechanisms. Although not super secure (you could easily break through if you wanted) it’s enough to stop an animal or deter your pet if not too forceful. BUT this is our second door as the first one eventually broke off the hinge due to constant banging in and out, speaking of which it not very quiet.

Super easy to take the old cracked one and pop it out to replace with new one. It seems to be a tiny bit too long/louder when it flaps but not a deal breaker and the pups use it just fine !
Have had Hanukkah dog doors for 10 years, complete change out once and now on third door flap, but only replacing flaps now.Harsh weather and bulldozer dog equals about 2nd yearly replacement. Very easy to swap out old one. Will continue to use hanuka dog doors in my next home.
I ordered a replacement door because the weather strip had deteriorated and flied were getting in the house. This replacement is the same as the original and the price is reasonable. I highly recommend getting replacement doors from Hakuna.
Replaced old cracked & yellowing door flap. Easy swap over. New door is quieter (not exactly sure why - fresh magnets?). Look brand new now!
I actually replaced the Super Tough Pet Door yesterday (all by myself) however I'm wondering if the previous owners installed the kit in back to frontThe name Hakuna is on the internal side of the door? Also is it meant to have a magnet to keep it closed?
my old flap broke and I have had this dog door for 20 years - unfortunately the flap broke due to an accident and was unsure if this new one would fit exactly and have the same installation as the old one . Well no problems in fit perfectly
very easy to install, came quickly, and worked well no more fly's and hot air in the house. Took our dog 5 years to break the first one they are very strong highly recommend.
