Never spilled so much gas in my life! There's always residual gas in the spout, and it will spill onto whatever is under it, unless you re really careful when folding down the spout. Locating/holding the can, holding the flexible spout and activating the safety latch on the handle is really awkward. And, yes, I read the instructions. I used traditional gas cans with spouts for 55 years and never had any of these problems.

Was a little apprehensive on the price... but because the can seemed much sturdier than the others, figured i'd give it a try. What a great decision! Well worth the extra couple dollars. Not only was the can more solid,and better built, I didn't spill a drop on my mower! To top it off... the vent system they designed allows the gas to dump out of the can at a rapid pace... Can't wait for the weather to warm up and use it for my jet ski!

This works great! I'm short so lifting a full 2 gal gas can be hard on my shoulders. This allows me to set it down on an overturned 5 gal bucket, tilt the gas spout into the mower, and then press the button to let gas flow. It does take a bit of practice to stop the button flow just prior to full as the gas still in the spout needs time and space to finish coming out, but it was easy. Thanks for inventing this!

Ever since the Government got involved and regulated the gas cans design, I have been fighting with nozzles trying to fill up my lawn equipment. Love the new concept and design from SureCan. Easy to fill and easy to use with no mess or spilling of fuel all over the equipment. It is a little on the pricey side but well worth it after using so many other brands that were garbage. I immediately called my daughter to get her to by my son-in-law one for his birthday, it will make a great present.
Have to be careful when filling! You have to stop to allow fuel to empty out of the fill tub before you over fill the tank.
A good design idea, but started leaking at about 4 months of use down at the bottom where the black spout connects. It leaks the most when pouring fuel. I sent my online request to Surecan to send me another...only a email response so far. I wouldn't buy another surecan, I don't trust their design after this experience. I just got a dud. Will check out another manufacturer...maybe No-Spill.
Sturdy can with good handling to prevent spills. As others have said, the safety latch on the filler cap is a poor design and makes it impossible to open. You can use diagonal cutters to clip off part of the tab, which allows you to press it in to open and still retains the tab lock when putting the cap on.
I’ve had this gas can for about 2 years during which I’ve used it three times. The last time I used it the flimsy plastic spout broke for no reason while filling a gas tank. Since the warranty is valid for only one year, I have no warranty claim. Other owners have complained about the spout breaking on reviews at the manufacturer’s website. They sell replacement spouts for $8 plus shipping at their website. Obviosuly they know their cheap plastic spouts break so they sell replacements for ~25% of the cost to buy a whole new gas can. I dont recommend this product.
These cans are okay but not better than steel jerry cans. Slow draining even with the fill cap removed to allow max venting. The drain spout has a small diameter about 1/2".
I bought this at the local Lowes store today. On the way home I filled it up with gas. As soon as I pulled out of the gas station I smelled gas in the car. The flexible hose at the bottom was leaking. By the time I got home the car was filled with gas fumes. My SUV is only three months old. Just what I wanted, a rear deck smelling of gas. Thankfully I had a Matt in the back so it didn’t go into the carpet. Overpriced and the quality is terrible.
