These bars provided a comfortable angle for the arms while also extending me out for a more efficient climbing position. Best of both worlds.

Nice handlebar

Super comfy, good amount of sweep and width. Used for commuting, gravel, dirt roads, and light singletrack.

Suitable for very light duty off road

I bought this handlebar based on reviews that it helps with hand/wrist pain because of the increased backsweep. After installing and riding with it, I found that it did help some, but that it also left me with less control over the bike in rough single-track or sections of difficult downhill. I ended up removing the bar and replacing it with a Soma Dream bar that has pronounced yet less backsweep than the Surly bar has. It is working better. The Surly bar is in the bin for now but I'm sure that I'll find an application for it. Perhaps I'll throw it on a towny at some point.

A typically high-quality and rugged product from Surly. I like the reduced sweep angle (compared to the Open bar); results in a more neutral wrist position which is good for me over long rides.Can't beat Jenson's service - fast and reliable.

Surly Handlebar for the Win

I bought this about a month ago to put onto a vintage MTB build. I wanted something that would be comfortable and classic looking. These did the trick. The sweep is perfect and looks amazing on my old Rockhopper. They are great for casually cruising around town. The backwards sweep is just enough to keep me sitting straight, allowing me to wave to my neighbors, throw a shaka to the youths, or flip the bird to my enemies.
