Sushi Go Party Game

This has been a fantastic game for our family! We love the variety that comes with the expanded game. With the mixture of cards for the menu, you can have a different game each time you play. The strategies to win make it fun for young and old alike. Even if you are behind, you can come back to win the final round. We highly recommend this game!

Such a good game! I debated between the original and sushi go party. Both have great reviews, but the majority say better replayability with sushi go party so I went with that. It looks more confusing to learn than it is, and even our 6 year old picked it up very quickly. We're trying our own menu combos, and can tell this is going to be a firm favourite. Also next day delivery!

Currently my all time favorite game, can't get enough of it!Has a wonderful tin with slots to hold each of the category of cards in for easy selection of the menu ingredients.Easy to learn, is a favorite at our game nights, ages ranging between 45-55. Not just a kids game, although I think older kids would really like it also. The board is a Menu, and you can either pick from one of the ingredient selections from the instructions, or simply create your own menu of ingredients. Each game is totally unique even with the same menu each time, although the many different menu options make the replay value VERY high!Scoring is based on collecting a certain amount of the ingredientsCurrently my all time favorite game, can't get enough of it!Has a wonderful tin with slots to ... MoreCurrently my all time favorite game, can't get enough of it!Has a wonderful tin with slots to hold each of the category of cards in for easy selection of the menu ingredients.Easy to learn, is a favorite at our game nights, ages ranging between 45-55. Cards are shuffled, you pick one and pass to the player on the left. A round goes until the cards run out. There are 3 rounds to a game. Gameplay is quick so not something drawn out and boring like a bad Monopoly game.Tin is portable for travel. Its not small enough for a pocket game, for that you'd want Sushi Go the card game, however options are more limited as only one menu of ingredients are available with it (and is included in this party version).I HIGHLY recommend this game to anyone., but you can also lose points if you don't have enough or too many ingredients. I just rented this game from our local library and my husband an I enjoyed it. :) The artwork is cute and the concept of having to build your own menu pile is fun. I don't think the instructions did a great job of explaining the rules but I think we figured it out to be able to play correctly. It is set up to accommodate two to eight people which is really cool. We would purchase this for ourselves in the future and would love to try it with more people.

It offers a fantastic mix of straightforward action with opportunity for strategic gameplay, and all in a light-hearted, fun manner. Don’t be fooled by the bright colours – there is the potential for real cunning, complexity and meanness… but it’s hard to get really mad when you look down at an anthropomorphised maki roll staring back at you.The game starts with the selection of seven different items to join the Nigiri on the menu board. This dictates which cards are in play- and therefore which sets and combinations will score the most points. Action proceeds with the drawing of hands from the deck, selecting cards, revealing them and then passing the hands on, and the process repeats until all the cards are drawn. The game takes place over three quick rounds, with scoring at the end of each one, ultimately resulting in a points victory for one of the players. The greatest strength of Sushi Go Party! is its versatility. It can play up to 8 players without issue, but works great as a two-player game, where the action is even quicker, and the potential for mean strategic drafting is increased. The rules are simple and straightforward, and the menu cards in the centre of the table communicate clearly what each set and combination is worth, so there is little need to constantly refer back to the rule book, even for new players. It is the kind of game that you can teach in under 10 minutes, people will have grasped by the time of their second round, and you can see their eyes light up with the realisation of the strategic potential in the game. And when you have finished that menu, you can select another seven options from the 22 menu cards for fresh combinations and possibilities (the expanded possibilities here is the significant difference with its predecessor, Sushi Go).The components are nice enough, with a solid game board and menu cards, soy-sauce bottle player tokens (what else!), and full-size playing cards, all brightly illustrated. In terms of negatives, there are just a couple of minor gripes. It comes in a tin which will not stack easily for some, and the insert does not hold the cards as neatly. The rules could have been better written, but really that is all there is by way of criticism.Sushi Go Party! offers a rare combination of simplicity, potential for depth, and variety of gameplay. It works for all group sizes, from 2 to 8, and it is yet to fail at a party. It is a cute simple game, with broad appeal outside of board and card game enthusiasts- but there is enough happening to keep those already familiar with games interested. You can play one game in 20 mins as a filler, or switch it up with different menu combinations and play all evening. It is hard to think of a game which does so much for such a modest price point. It is rightfully considered to be a great “gateway game”, a means to get new and experienced gamers around the same table, sharing in the fun! Final rating…. A definite buy.

Condition of the product leaves much to be desired

My tin box came with a small dent at the top edge despite being bubble wrapped, and there were slight creases found on the instructional booklet despite the tin box showing no signs of being tampered with. This is my first purchase from Toytag, and its subpar physical condition makes me question whether subsequent purchases would turn out that way too. A bit deceptive to also factor in GST to the product price upon checkout. That aside, the game is fun and offers just the right amount of strategy for people of all ages and experience levels in board/card gaming to enjoy. Cleaning up after each round is a chore though.

Sushi Go Party!

If you like the base Sushi Go! you'll love the new mechanics the party version brings. While it has the same cards as the base set, it has all new cards to accompany them, as well as a board and a new "menu" that can change with each round or game. The new menu tiles are chosen and the matching cards are what make up the deck for each game (or round, depending on how complicated you want to get), which makes each game different and always seem new. Lots of new cards means lots of new combinations. The instructions come with suggested menu set-ups based on your level of experience, which is nice for new players. If you're an experienced Sushi Go! player, the more complicated menus will bring a new dimension to keep you challenged. The new cards also add new strategy, with some cards only counting if you're the only one who played that type this turn, if you have the least amount of a certain type, cards that copy other cards, etc. While it is a "party" game, it plays just as well with 2 or 3 players, so if you don't have the original Sushi Go! you don't have to worry about buying it before giving this a try.

Sushi Go Party!

It's a fun little game that you can play with a lot of friends. It is a bit unbalanced depending on the number of players you are playing with. With less players you soon know all hands and can both use more strategy or be locked into preventing someone's actions. With a lot of players you'll probably already had to rely on luck on the next few hands until you get to see all the cards currently at play... it also becomes a lot harder to keep track of everything.

Sushi Go Party!

Most of the games we had were for up to 5 players, which meant they were unsuitable for when we were inviting more than one couple at a time round to play games. Sushi Go Party was therefore a great addition to our collection as meant more guests could play, required very little explanation, but still offered a good level of strategy. The other advantage is that the game can be relatively quick to play, so you don't have to set aside a whole evening for one game.

This is the one to get! Better than the original.

Sushi Go Party is more fun than the original. Lots of new cards (menu choices) that change the dynamics of the game. Of course, you can still play the original game with this set. It’s great having the game board with soy sauce tokens to keep score. And the menu cards on the game board all have a quick reference for how points are earned. Overall it’s a more robust version of the original with a few more twists!
