We use Suunto clinos to lay out sustainable single track trails in Southern California. You may think you can guess the slope by looking but you can't. This tool is essential for trail design and building.The Suunto is sturdy, easy to read and compact. You must know how to use it and for trails you will usually be using grade in percent. It's critical that you don't get angle in degrees mixed up with percentage slope. The tool shows both so just be aware.I got the rubber protective case for our clinos. Makes the tool easier to hold and protects from shock.
