We bought this bell for the reception of an old folks home. - There was no way of knowing that the 16 different chimes would all be so awful. After a single day of use the receptionist and the facility manager has asked the maintenance department to remove and destroy. It is a pity that there is no way of hearing the chimes before purchase. It works well but just sounds awful - One man said that it sounds like a Chinese Brothel - we'll have to keep our eyes on that one!

I bought this doorbell to replace the same (at request of the owner of our rental). True, as the other reviewers say, that if the batteries are left in it and have died, the speaker unit can be ruined beyond repair (due to corrosion of the battery terminals). This can happen to any battery-operated device though (e.g. kids toys). An idea might be to put a reminder on the calendar to check that it's still working every 4wks or so (what I'm about to do). The only way to avoid this would be to get a mains-powered unit (which are available, but not necessarily convenient...and no power-point close to the unit for us). Otherwise I can't fault it for the price ($22.50), hence the 5-star rating. Easy to set up, this is my second as last one the outside button part deteriorated, but I did get a good 6 plus years. I was disappointed that my favourite tune was not on the newer version, but I was able to pair the new button with the old inside part of the unit which was handy, so I got to keep my old tune after all.

Got this for Christmas, and while setting it up was simple enough there have been two main problems:1 - The sound files on the device are low quality; the tunes clip no matter what tune or volume you choose, so it's not the speaker that's bad, they've just given it poor quality music files for some reason. Not quite "music to your ears".2 - Our receiver randomly goes off with different tunes once or twice a day. This doesn't seem to be interference or another transmitter close by, as it plays a different tune each time, despite the choosing being done on the receive itself. This can occur anything from the middle of the day, to at 3AM in the morning. Because it's a different tune, you can tell nobody is at the door, but it is still quite annoying.
Bought this door bell 2 years ago its used more batteries than it's worth and that's when it works. The door push it's self cracked after 9 months so held on by gaffer tape with no real use at all, had to change the battery again today and its now fell into lots of pieces. The chime part seems to make quality batteries leak and coroad the springs. Sorry Swann but its not up to the job RUBBISH
This door chime needs batteries replaced once every few months even when it doesn't get used often. The indoor unit stopped working after two years and the batteries was corroded inside. There's no more sound when I press the volume control buttons. I would not buy another one due to above issues.
Goes off randomly once a day and at least every night between 3am and 4am. Not a ghost. And the interference maybe but it’s a different tone every time. Dogs go off because they think someone is at the door! Sending it to the bin, waste of money but I am going to miss the tunes “under the sea” and titanic theme song. Poo boor bell
I had a pricey doorbell stop working within a year, so I thought I may as well try a cheaper one. Unfortunately, this one died within weeks. No luck. Its super loud, and can't quieten volume as low as I'd usually like. Not intuitive to use. Will be returning.
Easy to install and set up. Mostly reliable, but no low or flat battery warning so that needs to be checked every so often.Outside unit is however too flimsy, held together by two very thin clip tabs top and bottom. Russian roulette at every battery change. Ours lasted 18 months.Given the price and competition we are going to buy another, but it so easily could be better.
Have had two of these in the past 12 months and both have died within about 4 months. Nothing wrong with the batteries, but after a little while the chime just stops going off. After lockdown will be taking the second one back for full refund. Don't waste your time.
