My eye doctor recommended an AREDS supplement for my vision health. This has the included Lutein at 10 mg. in a small sized red gel pill. Preservision also has 10 mg in a daily serving (2 gels). I already have a multi-vitamin/mineral I like. There is too much overlap with the other supplements included in the name brand. This works out to be more economical for me. Lutein benefits general eye health, not just macular degeneration.

I used to buy this directly from Swanson's. It was much cheaper back then, I think about $4-5. This one is cheaper due to lutein ester instead of pure lutein, but should be same once ingested. I chose this due to extra bilberry (blueberry). Lutein is only 6 mg. This is less than competition. Should have upsized to 10 mg. I don't mind paying a little more if they do so.

Love this product, it’s a little booster for my sight. Every day I can keep age related macular degeneration away the better. It’s easy to swallow, small, no taste whilst taking the capsule or afterwards. The quality of the lutein appears to be good. I’m not sure I could ever eat enough leafy vegetables to have the same effect as this supplement.
