Tightening works well. Releasing, however, is poor. The ratchet doesn’t run freely when the clutch is released, which is frustrating. No complaints because these were really, really cheap. Just beware you get what you pay for.

Really reliable. The mechanical parts seemed to work well. Have used twice without any issues. First time was to tie up my queen mattress on top of my sedan. The other time was to load my furniture on top of car driving all the way down to Christchurch from Wellington. 350km via the tough Kaikoura gorges and the load didn't move an inch. Highly recommend.

Bought these to tie cargo to roof bars. Was a two-person job to release as the catches appear to be of bad quality. Had to end up completely unwinding the tail of the strap by hand for a few minutes to release them.Couldn't use them for purpose. Will be returning these.

Use them all the time, well made and great value for money. The strap will get caught in the centre when trying to release if turned too many times, but any small ratchet strap of the same size will do. Used correctly they work fine
