Takamine G70 12 String Jumbo Acoustic Guitar Natural
Takamine's 2013 G70 Series consists of stylish (electro-)acoustic instruments with fantastic looks and first-grade sound quality. They all feature a solid top-construction, elegant equipment and high-quality electronics. This GJ72CE-12NAT is a twelve-string western guitar with a jumbo-size body and a beautiful natural colour. Thanks to the deep cutaway you can easily reach the highest frets. This is a rather impressive twelve-string, made to deliver the best performance. Construction of the Takamine GJ72CE-12NAT The body of the GJ72CE-12 is made of flamed maple and has a solid spruce top. The neck is also made of maple and features a 20-fret rosewood fretboard. This combination of wood types and body style results in a full, defined sound with deep basses and sparkling treble. Thanks to the two-piece bridge saddle you're guaranteed optimal tonal purity. The bridge saddle and the string nut are both made of synthetic bone for a direct tone and excellent tuning stability. Fully equipped electronics The GJ72CE-12 also performs perfectly when amplified as this guitar is fitted with Takamine's elaborate TK-40D preamplifier. This preamp features volume control and a 3-band EQ that you can switch on/off. With the Mid Contour control you can boost the mid frequencies (400 Hz) for more punch and a rounder attack. The Notch Filter is ideal for finding that frequency that is causing unwanted feedback. You are also provided with an auto-chromatic tuner with a LED display.

As I'm a neville as such things, I got 'The DOM' (our Director of music) to give me his expert opinion on this beauty, compared to other models from other stores. He rated this one the best for quality and price, which was just as well as we were never going to go with the other products anyways. The person who we bought it for as a farewell gift (our Kapa Haka tutor) was so impressed with it and moved by this that he gifted his own guitar to one of our students.I would just like to thank you guys for your amazing prompt service - from the quotes and re-quotes (apologies) through to invoicing. As in the name, you guys truly rock!

I've owned 2 of these and quite honestly I like them better than a high end Taylor. These guitars are solid and they play and sound very good where as the Taylor's felt like a light weight cheap peace of junk. That's just my opinion but I've been playing for 40 years and at this point I know what works out there on stage. These guitars never let me down ! The only improvement I did was change the tuners, and that made a huge difference in the overall guitar. Cheap, easy fix !

When I first purchased this guitar I was extremely surprised with the comfort of the guitar as far as handling and playing it. On the other hand, I felt like the strings were to difficult to play on and that is why I never play the guitar with standard tuning. I always tune the guitar one note lower. Most of it is also preference and that is why I choose that type of tuning. Not to mention that I also play the guitar in pairs instead of the regular octave strings. There are times when the guitar makes small noises when playing it is very good for practicing and jamming. As far as performing this guitar has been producing great loud and vibrant sound. I have not tried this guitar in the recording so that is a must. Honestly, I like the jumbo cutaway but I feel like having a smaller body would have made it easier to play. I was overall glad I purchased this guitar because it gets the job although there are minor details that could need improvements.

Sound:I've owned and played Takamine Guitars before.Features:I've heard and read the action is spot on, right out of the box.Overall:Guitar and Case will be here Tuesday 7th of November '23 This will be my 10th purchase for Z's and My 4th Guitar. Thanks Z's, I'm disabled, it's very cumbersome with pain & immobility to get out.And the payment plan helps me get equipment that I couldn't otherwise. Be back to after I open my new 12string
I own three 12 strings in my collection: Yamaha, D'Angelico and this Takamine. But the Tak is the best guitar I own out of ALL of my Gretsch, Fender, Epi Masterbilt(wonderful acoustic 6 string for little money) or electric Yamahas. The Tak is akin to holding an orchestra in one's lap. The sound is so full and lush, especially when plugged into my Boss Katana amp.The finish and fit are the best of all the guitars I own.The only downside is the neck is fairly thick relative to my Yamaha and D'Angelico 12 strings. That means for me and my fat, shorter fingered hands, I have to "work it" more than usual. But the return is so much greater.I could not find one error or anything I'd change on this guitar. I played it as is right out of the box.I bought an SKB case. I played it as is right out of the box.I bought an SKB case. It was a very very tight fit vertically. Some people have said that they couldnt get their Tak to fit in this case as it was too tight, vertically, and they were afraid of damaging the guitar when closing and locking the case.I set the guitar in the case and closed but did not lock the lid. After about 3 days the plush lining relaxes around the guitar strinhs and fretboard enough that the case closes without any pressure needed. The case can then be locked without fear of damaging the instrument inside. It did scare me a bit.A stellar instrument!.
I bought this guitar after comparing it in the store to similary priced 12 strings from Martin, Taylor and Breedlove. The Takamine was clearly the best in sound and even moreso in playability. For as 12 string it is very easy to play. There are two areas where this guitar stumbles a bit. One is the tuners. They're cheap and have a lot of play. Once it's in tune, though, the guitar stays in tune pretty well. The other thing is fret sprout. I fixed mine pretty easily with a file, but hopefully they've improved on this since I got my guitar six years ago.But overall this is a great guitar. Don't let those relatively minor things stop you from buying it. For the price, I think it's the best out there. Sound:Sounds like nothing else I have, the electronics allows me to explore sounds and add to songs I love. It makes me a better musician. Thanks zZounds for making it possible.Features:Takamine's electronics gives me many more options. It's also an audience favorite. It sounds like nothing else. Thanks Takamine, and Thanks to zZounds for making it possible to make payments.
Great sounding and easy playing 12 string. It's flamed maple sides and back give it great crisp tones, and is definitely eye candy. The spruce top aids in the tone, and the jumbo body provides great projection. The maple (NOT mahogany) neck gives this 12 string acoustic much needed strength for the higher string tension requirement of a 12 string. By carefully removing the split saddles and removing the shim(s) beneath the piezoelectric pickups, comfortable string height can be achieved. Each saddle has 2 shims. The long saddle shims are of different thicknesses. I exchanged the D'Addario EXP38's (.010 to .047) factory wire for a D'Addario EJ41 .009 to .045 set as a matter of personal taste. It holds tune very well. I definitely recommend this. Some have given ... MoreGreat sounding and easy playing 12 string. Some have given less-than-stellar reviews, but I've found over time those types will bitch about anything, or don't know what they're talking about to begin with. I've been playing for 62 years, both professionally and privately, and own a myriad of high-quality guitars, including a Rickenbacker 360/12. I can't give this Takamine enough praise as a 12 string acoustic.
I've been playing six string acoustics for the past twenty some odd years, and figured it was time to add another dimension to my sound; and what better way than to add a twelve string? First off, this guitar is a cannon for sound and tone. It's naturally loud, bright, articulate, and the sustain is long and lingering. That Sitka Spruce and Flamed Maple combination is really something. Visually, this guitar is simple, but elegant. Simple enough to let its beauty shine on its own, with a few embellishments to bring things home. For a twelve string, the playability was better than I was expecting. The neck is flat with a comfortable radius to not make playing feel like a chore. I guess the only gripe I have, is that it doesn't even include a gig bag. So I ended up buying a compatible hard shell case for it. Add it all together, this is one phenomenal guitar, specially for well under a thousand bucks. Definitely worth getting one!
