This Tamiya kit comes loaded with detail. It may be a bit dated, as the kit was released back in 2005. Not the most expensive kit, compared with the new Trumpeter, or Revel kits out there, but it still has the potential to be a super detailed kit with added photo-etch, and wooden deck sets. Lots of small and detailed parts. Magnifier recommended when working on this one. I have already purchased the deck set, and I am currently waiting on aftermarket brass barrels for it, and will be building it for my cousin, who is a fanatic when it comes to early WW 2 battleships, of either Great Britain, or Germany. HMS Hood is arriving shortly, too.

It has no port hole or vents just nothing at all in most places. There is no railings. It needs all after market sets to bother with it. I'm surprised Tamiya would sell it. Revell is the one you should buy to avoid such a nothing detail. True fact if you like a car with tires on it they should come with the tires.
Great kit, very detailed instructions. Beautiful details engraved on pieces so you get a lovely finish. Very happy and highly recommend!
Havent built it yet, my only complaint is that I wish Tamiya made a premium or had a little more detail/PE. I do suggest you purchase the detail up kit that Tamiya offers.
I've really been wanting this kit for a long time. I had a leaflet through the post, which had a 20% voucher, so I went straight to hobbycraft and brought the kit, and saving money. I was really happy with the staff and their very helpful service, I've even bought extra add-on parts for the bismark. I will be definitely going back to the store again.
This is a modelers Nirvana! It has always been a bane to shipbuilders to reproduce the wooded decks of warships properly! This product TRULY answers that challenge. It does take some planning to do it right but if you set your building steps up before hand, this makes a most excellent model!
Opening the box revealed what I had hoped for a battle ship which will test my skillsThe hull is already built but the rest of the items are very much detailed and precise I have only just started it but building ships of this size takes time and patience defiantly recommend a purchase if you are serious about models
