Tamron 18-300mm f/3.5-6.3 Di III-A VC VXD Lens For Sony E

I am a fan of a zoom lens of this range, particularly for travel photography. Despite the fact that I have only had the lens for two days, from what I have seen so far, I have no doubt that this lens will provide the versatility and quality that I need.

All in one powerhouse

Box was securely taped at the flaps, the lens box was tightly packed with plenty of packing air bags. Inside, the lens was secure and in the original packaging. When I inspected the glass, it just as if it came off the line. No dust, debris, almost as if it was in a clean room. It did have minor scratches on the body, but it didn't change the quality of my photographs. This lens is truly an all in one powerhouse

Great lens at a great price. I have been using it for a week on Holiday and it gives me all the range I want.

Is this truly a Swiss army do anything lens?

Well finally got this lens, no fault of Wex. Truly impressed, a great addition to my kit. Matched to my X-T4 balances really well giving awesome range. Also impressed with closeup ability. Currently on the Isle of Wight in the wind testing the opportunities this gives as a single lens for a trip. Only thing missing is an aperture ring but not too difficult to live without.

This is a great lens that does pretty much everything. It's the perfect travel lens. It doesn't excel at anything but is reasonably competent at most things. Not so good for low light indoors with it not being that fast a lens. It's very versatile and provides the flexibility you get from a bridge camera but with the image quality of your x mount camera. Focusing is fast for the type of lens. It's a bargain for the price.

Excellent build quality and sharp especially when you consider what a wide focal range it has.The perfect walk around/travel lens.

Versatility King

So versatile, it's Difficult to swap this lense off my Camera. Paired with my Fuji 10-24 gives me a great two lense set up when out and about with the family. Only poor light situations has me looking for my faster lenses or taking portraits. Wish it had a aperture ring but you get used to using the camera dial. Not used it for video, I believe this isn't its strong point. It's obviously not a prime lense killer but for 18-300 versatility it's hard not to recommend. With such a wide focal range it could have been a disaster of a lense but Tamron pulled it off, at a compelling price to boot.

Worth the money

I've given the lens a brief outing on my X-T3, primarily to test it at full extension, and am already very pleased to have taken the plunge. The vibration reduction seems to work well and image sharpness is better than expected given that I was restricted to a relatively high ISO on the day. I have no access to a Fujifilm lens with a 300mm reach - and couldn't begin to afford one - but this lens, at its price, is likely to do all that I need from it. My one reservation so far: the zoom ring is uncomfortably stiff, though that is something which might well resolve itself in time.
