This lens is super lightweight. The focal range is awesome but it does come with the cost of aperture being pretty small. On top of that the sharpness is significant worse compared with 28-200 or 50-400.

Used it the first time last night. I'm impressed with it's low light performance as well as the sharpness of the images I took. I'm very happy with the lenses overall quality. The lens certainly meet my expectations. I think this lens will be my go-to lens. B&H does it again. Fast delivery and great service. I originally bought the Tamron 28-200mm zoom but one week after purchase Tamron announced the 28-300mm lens. I contacted B&H immediately and ordered the new 28-300mm lens. I sent back the old 28-200mm lens. The same day B&H received the old lens, I was credited the purchase amount. I could not be happier with their service. B&H rocks.
