*I did not purchase this at BHP and I know this lens has been discontinued*I just wanted to give this lens some love. I purchased this lens along with my 6D2 new in May 2019. I have hundreds of great photos over the past 3 years with this lens. It is a terrific focal range to walk around with. Image quality is virtually identical in comparison to my canon 24-105 f4 L IS.Besides the f2.8/4 and slight focal length difference, the canon snaps to focus slightly faster. However, if you have a few microseconds to spare, this lens is just as sharp and impressive. However, I am quite sure Tamron doesn't have the same QC standards as canon and quality between lenses fluctuates. Luckily, I have a good copy and will always hold onto it despite acquiring more canon L glass.

Still, while I didn't measure, Canon 24-105mm lenses seemed tiny bit smoother. Still, this lens is sharper than Canon EF 24-105mm f4 L at all focal length when I compared it. Pro/Con: This lens has unique range of 35-150mm. Not very wide and not very long. Well, many people use 24-105mm f/4 lens on cropped sensor cameras very happily. It's almost like that. (36-158mm) 35mm is wide enough for me for most shots with people in it. I do have ultra wide angle lens when I want something very wide. I do like 150mm reach over 105mm. So I don't miss 24-35mm as much as I love 105-150mm extra reach. It really depends on your style, subject, and most used range. I use 35mm, 50mm, 85mm, and 135mm primes. These are my most used range which this lens covers and bit more. Con: The front focus ring moves during auto focus. Also means no full time manual focus. I don't care for full time manual focus, but a premium lens like this shouldn't have focus ring move during AF. BIG no, no. Such a shame... Zoom ring moves in opposite to Canon zooms. Well, annoying at first but not a big deal as you get used to it quickly as you use it. I strongly recommend this lens for those who shoot people. For those who shoot outdoor events and family and friends during outings. This is the just right lens for me. 24-70mm f/2.8 (love the quality but too short for close ups), 70-200mm f/2.8/f4 (love the quality but not wide enough as one lens and onebody, and TOO big), 24-105mm f/4 was the best fit for me until this lens. 35mm f/2.8 to 150mm f/4 and not too big with great build, image quality, AF, and VC. Perfect.

Excellent Walk Around/Portrait Lens that also works well with some close up image work. Beautiful color and I think the sharpness is spot on. I have either an excellent copy or this lens for the most part renders sharp images. I will say I'm not too concerned about super sharp images at the wider end as I'm doing portrait work and I don't require super sharp for my type of work. All of my other lenses are Canon L lenses that are not specialty lenses. I must say that Tamron has grown up and now offers much better lenses than in the past. Good job, Tamron, they offer a much needed lens that Canon does not, and at an excellent price and excellent quality, plus water resistant sealing!!
I'm withholding a star just because there are some things about the other glowing reviews that I don't agree with, but honestly for what this costs and what you get, it's allowed to have some flaws without being downgraded.As others have said, this lens is sharp. I got better things to do than shoot test charts, but I've had this lens for a few days and have shot one event and some street photography throughout the entire focal length range of this lens. I can't identify a focal range that I was unhappy with. Something in this price range has no business being this sharp throughout.The weight of the lens is very well balanced so it doesn't feel heavy even though it's not exactly a light lens. I have yet to find a lens that has that lens' AF speed and confidence in focusing on low contrast objects.One of the notable weaknesses of the Tamron 35-150 is its hesitant autofocus. It's fast enough that you won't notice anything amiss when shooting well lit places with high contrast objects to focus on, but it easily gets confused on low contrast objects. It tends to hunt, going all the way to the end in the wrong direction before coasting all the way back until it acquires focus after two full passes through the focus dial.That's about it for the things I don't like. This wasn't intended for use as a sports lens so I can forgive it for have mediocre autofocus. It's intended to be the ultimate affordable portrait lens and it certainly appears to be superbly suited for that.
I got this for my D3500 and I am impressed! The focusing and sharpness would be my only two critiques, though when compared to my kit lenses it is similar if not better. At this price range, I am happy to have a bigger Full Frame lens for my DX camera in case I upgrade. The focus ring moves when using auto focus. It hasn’t bothered me yet, but the focus drive is fairly loud and not the fastest around. My kit lenses focus faster and more accurately under a wider array of conditions. The biggest case for this lens is the focal range and f2.8-4 aperture. On DX, it becomes an equivalent 50-210mm lens, perfect for most of my needs, and the wide aperture creates a really nice bokeh. For the price, it’s hard to beat. Great for portraits, nature, and film work.
I've owned this lens for 2 years now. I've been very delighted with its performance and images. The auto focus is not as fast as my Canon L series lens, buts that's to be expected, especially at this price point. The VC is superb. It holds the image very still and is quite obvious when you use it. This was the same of the newer 50mm Tamron lens I once owned. The versatility of 34 to 150 cannot be overlooked. I've shot sports and portraits with this lens with impressive results. Highly recommended for those not wanting to pay out the extreme cost of high end glass but wanting a professional look. It looks rather cool on the camera body too..!!
Not an Canon L lens, but excellent at what it does does well. Well made for a Tamron Lens. It's a whole different lens than those I tried out 10 years ago. I use my gear to supplement my income so I'm serious about my Glass.The copy that I have is sharp and renders great color. The focus is not fast, but this is not an action lens.Here's a sample of what this lens offers. Sunset over the Arkansas River and it did a great job. This image is just a very small file.I'll try this lens out for a bit and when it's healthy and safe to really travel again this lens will be in my gear bag for Patagonia.
This lens does not auto focus consistently, even though that could be just my copy. Do not expect to use this lens for tracking quick moving objects, as the auto focus is not quick enough for birds or sports, even on my Nikon D850, which has great tracking capabilities. also had problems with the VR at speeds between 1/40 to 1/3 of a second, some sort of weird micro shake pattern hand held (I have pretty steady hands) don't have this on my Nikon VR lenses. Cheap plastic feel too. I can get sharp shots when shooting with no VR at fast speeds when it hits focus, with good bokeh, but at slower speed very few good pics. I want to thank Tamron for "thinking out side of the box". This is a very unusual focal length range, but it works extremely well. Pair this lens with a super wide lens ( I am using my Nikon Z 14-30mm f/4) and you can do just about anything with it. It is extremely sharp (corner to corner) at all focal lengths. And the VC is very responsive. I am giving it 5 stars not just because of the sharpness of the lens and the effectiveness of the VC, but because of how versatile it is. It completely replaces the typical 24-70 and 70-200 lens. I am giving it 5 stars not just because of the sharpness of the lens and the effectiveness of the VC, but because of how versatile it is. It completely replaces the typical 24-70 and 70-200 lens. Please note that with today's high resolution cameras you can do a digital crop in post processing and increase the effective focal length to 300mm and still have enough resolution to print up to 20" prints.And this lens works well on my Nikon Z7 camera using the FTZ adaptor.
