Ihave only had a chance to use this llens one time but the results were excelent. The range of this lens makes it very versitile when out in the field. The auto focus worked well and quickly except when the camera was focusing on something near the subject, (ie. branches with the bird sitting on it)

I had been using a Nikkor Z DX 50-250 with my Z6ii. The images were ok, but with the cropped sensor, I wasn't getting the full capability of the camera. My first use of the Tamron 70-300 was shooting my great-niece's soccer game. I'm a totally inept sports photographer, but even so this camera/lens combo captured some very good images- bright and sharp subjects, with properly blurred backgrounds. Considering my lack of experience, excellent results from this lens!

I purchased this lens to replace my F-mount Nikon 70-300mm. Although initially hesitant purchasing a 3rd party Z lens, this one definitely does not disappoint! This feels great using it on my Z6ii camera and has produced sharp photos. This is my new go-to lens for my daily use. Looking forward to seeing more Z lenses from Tamron!

For the price, this lens is pretty unbeatable. I really enjoy the length that it gives my A7C, and would buy it again. This is easily the best option if you meet the following criteria-Your camera has in-body stabilization-You want a noticeably lighter lens weight-You are on a budget-You don't need superb low light performance (just average)
This is exactly what you are expecting to get when you purchase it. Its not fast, or incredibly well built, but it is built well enough, cheap, and a fine optic in general. Its sharp across its focal range, renders good colors, and is reasonably light. If you don't use this focal length much, its a good thing to have as a just in case lens. If you do use this focal length alot, I'd suggest something slightly better.
I've had this lens for a couple weeks now and so far, I like it. For the price, I am satisfied with the capabilities. If you buy this lens knowing it is not going to be the same quality as a $2,500+ native lens, I don't think you're going to be disappointed in it. It can be a little slow to focus and sometimes focus is a little soft, but that is probably more from user error on my end than the actual lens itself. I like being able to have that extra reach so I can start learning how to shoot wildlife and practice my skills while I still save up for one of the native telephoto lenses.I'm pairing this lens with a z6ii and it seems to do well with it. My camera does handle higher iso's alright so the 6.3 hasn't been a deal breaker. I probably wouldn't pair this lens ...Β MoreI've had this lens for a couple weeks now and so far, I like it. My camera does handle higher iso's alright so the 6.3 hasn't been a deal breaker. I probably wouldn't pair this lens with a with a camera that doesn't have in body stabilization because even when I shoot handheld at shutter speeds over 1000, I do get some softness from camera shake. It would probably be far worse if my camera didn't have the in-body stabilization.
Overall this lens is quality for what you're paying. It's lightweight. There is no manual focus. The images have lots of noise on heavy cropping. Also be aware that I had to update the firmware on my camera for this lens to be recognized by my z7. It's a good way to get a fairly average lens for less money than the other options from Nikon.
I have only had the Tamron 70-300mm z mount lens for a little over a week, with very impressive results..and have found no issues of consequence with focus or distortion. The lens to be very sharp through out.The build quality of the lens is much nicer than I anticipated especially for the price point. It is the perfect travel lens, light weight, and fairly compact 70-300mm is a great variable focal length. Being able to zoom out to 300mm combined with the light weight and size made this a perfect lens for my needs.
I purchased this lens to replace the use of my Nikon 70-300 VR and FTZ adapter. I was looking for a lighter solution for a telephoto for travel.I like the way it fits and handle on my Nikon Z6. A bonus with this lens is that this Tamron is sharper than my Nikon above about 230 mm. I think I will "retire" my Nikon.I am old school - Nikon cameras with Nikon lens. This Tamron 70-300 is making me rethink that thought.
I shoot mostly landscape, nature, travel, and street photography, and I was looking for a smaller and lighter telephoto lens. Currently shooting with a Nikon Z7. I took this lens on my last trip and it performed very admirably. Very easy to use, the shots are incredibly sharp. I do need to do some post-processing to brighen the photos up, but I think that is definitely worth it for a sub-$1000 lens.
