Functions are great, no issues - but. It relies on a functioning internet connection to turn on or off. If the net goes down the unit may stay in either on or off which could be dangerous in some situations. It does enable very small on-off cycles though which is what I needed

This device has made going to bed so much nicer. We have it controlling our electric blankets. With its ability to schedule times when it turns on or off, we never forget to turn on our blankets and always go to bed warm. Its simple to use and I love how it connects to my Google assistant account making it super easy to use with voice control. I have had it for around a month and I have no negative comments about it. Highly recommended.

This smart plug has been working well to smarten up some lamps around the house. The Tapo integration with Google Home/Assistant is seamless, giving me "Hey Google, turn on the office lights" freedom. The Tapo app allows me to configure lights to turn on at specific times and/or relative to sun up/sun down. Only downside is that the iOS Siri integration feels clunky, in that you have to set up a "short cut" to action anything so you have to spend time setting things up that isn't needed on Android.

These are great for the price. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because, as with pretty much *all* smart home stuff, you need to download yet another app before you can add it to Google Home, if you don't already have any Tapo products in your home. I use mine to automatically turn a lamp on when it's starting to get dark, and I really enjoy it - though I'm not super used to it yet and sometimes it gives me a fright lol. I definitely would buy more of these if I had a bigger house with more lamps and stuff like that, and I would also definitely consider other Tapo products in the future based on the quality and user-friendliness of this device.

Compatibility

Requested a Kasa device and was sold the Tapo by sales staff. Did not realise at time of purchase that Kasa and Tapo devices are not compatible. I didn't notice at the time that I was being sold a different device. Lesson learnt.

Great smart plug

Simple to setup and use. Works well with Google Home app. Nice features like timer and scheduling. I use it to control a standing fan.

Neat device but struggles with mobile WiFi

Simple to set up and connnect to google home BUT it struggles to maintain a connection to our mobile WiFi (which is all that’s available here). The device is within reasonable range with only timber between it and the WiFi yet it struggles to recognise the connection. A tad disappointed.

So easy to set up and use

What a fantastic product. After plugging it in and downloading the app it was connected to my home network in minutes. I love being able to turn the switch on anywhere in the house - or even away from home. Love it. I'll be buying more. Buying one individually is a little on the expensive side so my next purchase will be a four pack.

TP Link smart plug

So far the plug has shown to be reliable. I used to own the Lenovo equivalent which is useless. The support centre has no idea how to support their product and the system continually crashes
