Does what it says it will do on the box, but I had purchased it primarily as an energy monitor to test out how much power different appliances around my home were using. I was hoping for better accuracy, although probably got what I paid for. The current usage stat is measured to the nearest 0.1W which is good, but the daily usage stats are to the nearest 0.1kWh which is not particularly accurate. Good product though and easy to set up and use etc

Constantly get reset, making them utterly useless

Bought two, sometimes they drop off the wifi and the only fix seems to be turning them off and on again, but turning them off at the mains resets them so you need to set them up from scratch and lose all your schedules and historical data. This also happens if you have a power outage. Effectively worthless.

Easy Set Up - Works Well with Alexa

Initially bought theses plugs as they are slimline and don’t take up extra room on power point or or powerboard as some smart plugs do. Very easy set up after downloading the Tapo app. First one took about 5 mins and once I got the hang of it, the others took considerably less. Easy to connect to Alexa for smart home voice commands - once the first one connected, the others were automatically detected and added too.Have used mainly to control lamps, but have also added to electric blanket so that in winter when I come home from night shift, the bed will already be warm and cosy. Easily added the plugs to ‘routines’ in Alexa app, now our lamps automatically turn on at sunset and bedtime.

Fantastic little plug: super easy to use

Amazing! So easy to set up and control, and fun to switch things on and off from anywhere, these plugs make me want to attach them to every powerpoint in my house.I had a couple of minutes where I couldn't connect to the app but that's because of user error in selecting the wrong type of plug: Tapo P100 vs Tapo P110 - a trap for young players.

Great for off-grid power monitoring and control

I have many of these units. They control everything from water pumps to remote satellite stations. Easy reliable and simple fuctionality, that just works. They easily integrate with google home as an integrated solution to off-grid power use and consumption monitoring and control on a farm.

Simple, flexible and convenient

Bought just the one to test it out and was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to set up: download the app, register at tp-link, search for the device on your home network and connect and you're away. I have this set up to turn on a really hard to reach switch but I'm now searching for other situations around the home where I can put more switches to use. I'll definitely buy more. Are these life-changing? No. Are they simple, flexible and convenient to use? Most definitely yes.

TP-Link and the ever-growing amount of excess apps

I bought this TP-Link because I thought I would be able to just add to my current network of TP-Link Smart Plugs. I was wrong, the older ones are connected to an app called Kasa and the Wireless Access Point is Omada, but these are Tapo. They worked okay once I connected them to the Tapo app but took them back to for a refund. If these are the only ones you have and only have Tapo, that's fine, but not suitable for me. TP-Link need to bring their older Smart Plugs into the newer apps or customers will just go elsewhere

Tapo smart plug with energy monitoring

Works well, compact design means I can fit 2 in a double power point. The power monitoring feature whilst good in theory is hidden by default, gives limited information and as is really a waste of money when you are just using it for a 15w bulb. Save some money and buy the cheaper version for simple smart lighting control. Otherwise I’m really happy with them!

Very convenient smart plug

Very convenient smart plugs that are easy to set up using the Tapo app. They have a nice slim body and aren't bulky or overweight when plugged into a socket. A manual switch on the top of the plug allows you to turn it on and off manually if required so you don't have to use the app every time, and being able to schedule the on/off is really handy. Works smoothly with Google Assistant.

Worth buying

Good smart plug and turn small appliances into smart appliances. For timers and full function, you need to control it via the Tapo App. You can link your Tapo App to Google Home app so you can use google home/google assistance to control immediate on and off function only (no timer). I have 3 of these. One as a bedside lamp beside my google nest hub. One for chargers so I don't overcharge phones etc. One for use as a timer for fan at night in summer. Will not use it with heater though.
