Targus Pro-Tek 9 - 10.5" Universal Bluetooth Keyboard Case -Black

At 6 years old and few bangs along the way I needed to replace my old Belkin Case & Bluetooth Keyboard. Sadly due to the latest generation of iPad being a bigger screen you now have to go for a "Universal" case - which by the nature of the beast is nowhere near as sleek as the case made specifically for your device. I made the mistake of not trying out the device inside the case before buying and as a result I am now stuck with a $150 mistake. The top of the case does not fold back far enough to provide the required angle to view the screen easily, which means that you have to bring forward the keyboard further down the magnetic pad - thereby making the whole footprint of the case & device significantly bigger than the previous one. Because it is a universal case the device is held in place by some clunky looking rubberized angles that sit in each of the corners. They are reasonably effect, but the reality is that the whole experience is poor when compared to the bespoke case. In hindsight I should have invested in a more recent generation iPad which when acquired direct from Apple's refurbished channel can be good value for money & whilst this would have been more $$ - the overall experience would have been far superior.

Awkward, not user friendly

I've been accustomed to the hard case, easy to use Targus clamshell for 1st generation I-Pad's. They simply open to a full-size keyboard and are very easy to adjust from any angle to 180 degrees. That case is no longer available so I ordered the Pro-Tek Universal. Not only would my I-Pad not pair after dozens and dozens of attempts, the case is awkward requiring the I-Pad to be removed, repositioned each time and is not adjustable to the comfort of the user. It requires multiple steps and is not user friendly. It does not protect the I-Pad as the hard shell one does. I truly do not like it and returned it. If my old clam case hardback keyboard had not failed I would not have bought another, but Targus no longer makes the one I depended upon.

I don’t like this case.

I don’t really like this iPad case. Pros: 1) It’s a universal tablet case. So you don’t have to remember exactly which generation tablet or iPad you have. You just have to know the size. I have “the new” iPad that came out in 2018 I think. This case does fit it. I had to mess around with one of the corner pieces holding the iPad to get it to fit properly. 2) I like the keyboard. It’s a little small and it takes a little getting used to (especially the backspace). The magnetic design is really nice too. It makes it super easy to remove for charging. 3) I like that there’s an on/off button on the keyboard. So I don’t waste battery when I’m not using the keyboard. The inside of the case is too slippery and it just falls over. 2) I can’t get it to stand up in the portrait mode at all. It does rotate all the way around, but that’s only helpful to switch from one landscape side to another. 3) I’m nervous to drop my iPad when it’s in this case. I don’t think it’s very protective. Especially, since I typically drop it when I’m using it. I think it would only be protective if I dropped it when the case was completely closed. 4) The magnet on the strap that hold the case closed is super weak. They might as well as left the strap off all together. I was excited to try this case, but it’s not what I’m looking for. I don’t recommend it. I think they need to make a few design changes before it will be a good case.

Long Lasting Battery

So glad I got this bluetooth keyboard/case. It fit perfectly with my Samsung tablet and easy to connect. The case itself is a little thicker than I was expecting, but it seems pretty solid and trust it to keep my tablet safe. It says it has a battery life of up to 100 hours, and I've been using it a lot still off the first charge. And while I know it was designed for tablets, I connected it to my cell phone as well, as it makes it so much easier to type on the smaller screen. I've only had it for a short time so far, but I haven't had any problems yet. Would definitely recommend it to others.

Protective, but not functional

I love the keyboard, it connects quickly and easily to my new Samsung Tablet. however the case itself is the problem. The adjustable holders are great for keeping the Tab in position, but the there are no good angles to have the Tab supported in a frame upright. I need to take the Tab out and use a different table stand. My other big problem with the cover is that it seems to interfere with something in the Tab and the screen keeps turning off. I can only guess it is either the frame holding the Tab is impinging on the power button, or the folio covering the camera is something the device does not like. I can not say I recommend this product as an all day use, but for storing the Tab, sure.

Sadly dissatisfied

The magnetic closure doesn't work. Keyboard connects but is slow to respond and keys have to be pushed hard to be recognized... makes it useless. Also the case was flimsy at the fold points like it was well worn so it didn't stay in position well. This product sounded great and would have been if it had delivered on its promises. Overall I was totally dissatisfied with every feature. Definately returning.

Sturdy Long lasting Case

It is a perfect fit for my I pad with a great folio. I was able to connect the keyboard quickly via Bluetooth. Pro-Tek Universal 9-11 inch Keyboard Case is very sturdy and I like the strap it came with as I can hold my I pad more securely. I am not worried anymore about the screen getting crack or damage my I pad. With one charge Keyboard battery works for a long time. I really recommended Pro-Tek Universal 9-11 inch Keyboard Case if someone looking to avoid carrying a laptop.

Time saver and screen saver

This case is the best. Not only do I no longer have to worry about the screen getting damaged when it’s not in use but the keyboard makes tying so much faster. The keyboard is quick to connect to your tablet using Bluetooth and works flawlessly. The straps that hold your tablet in the case are well designed and made with quality materials so I feel safe carrying this around. If you do any typing and use a case I highly recommend this one.

Travel Companion

Recently I purchase a new 8th generation apple ipad and I needed additional accessories to assist in completing task for my many multifaceted business. The first thing I noticed it had an on/off button on the keyboard and very lightweight. The keyboard battery lasted for a long time and the connection was easy to set up. Previously, I had a protector case on my iPad and was a little nervous about keeping it in the Pro Tek universal bluetooth 5.1 keyboard case because I didn’t think it was secure enough. Very nice and elegant case!

I was very impressed with just the presentation. The case came nicely packaged and would make a great gift. My favorite part is that the case is compatible with android or apple tablets. We don't switch the case around between tablets too often but I love that I can. I've tried it with my smaller Samsung tablet and my 10.2 iPad. Both times it was easy to connect and use. The keyboard itself feels sturdy and lightweight. The case looks elegant and is easy to use. I like that the case offers texture, giving it more of a grip. This is especially helpful for someone as clumsy as I am. I would definitely purchase this case as a gift for anyone with a tablet because it makes typing so much easier!
