Taste of The Wild - Pacific Stream Smoked Salmon Puppy 5.6kg

I am so grateful this kibble exists! We tried 3 other brands before this one and all of the others caused very loose stools, explosive diarrhea, terrible gas, or were prohibitively expensive. Not Taste of the Wild pacific stream! My Rottweiler wolfs it down at every meal, the kibbles are suitable for both small and large puppies, it’s grain/chicken free (both of which are known to cause upset stomachs if your puppy has a sensitive tummy), the ingredients are straight forward and aren’t a bunch of filler, and though it’s a bit pricy compared to some other brands, it is 100% worth it not to clean up diarrhea anymore! I don't know what to trust anymore. This brand has always done well by me and now I have a 10-month-old puppy that has health problems. I should've known when he started drinking a lot of water when I switched his food over, but dogs sometimes do that and mine is generally water obsessed as is. So I assumed he was upping his water intake as he aged. Then I noticed slight behavioural changes and he started getting blackheads. Again I assumed it was changing the food and/or age related. When I realised he was up to two full bowls before noon I knew he had to be seen immediately. Long story short the food is not balanced nor is it safe. My puppy's levels were off the chart. He stayed in treatment overnight and he's now on a very strict, clean diet and gets his labs ... MoreI don't know what to trust anymore. He still pants a lot and gets tired easily but he's slowly coming back to his bouncy self. Only time will tell if this food permanently damaged his system. I did love TOTW and I trusted them for years but I also know that my dog was perfectly healthy before giving him this bag of food. He almost died because of it and for that reason alone I can no longer feel comfortable recommending them. Honestly, I don't feel comfortable recommending any company at this point. It takes one bad batch of food to kill a loved one. I still have half a bag of one of those batches.

Gunnar does not have a grain intolerance, and we know that some vets prefer our dogs have grain in their diets, which has been a welcome addition to his diet.We are thankful to have a brand that we can trust, and reccomend, and one that he loves so much. We are even more thankful that it's a brand that we can recommend and donate without worry.

A chihuahua's dream.

Our local feed and hardware store had a tub of free samples. I picked out four with smaller bites. My chi is a very picky eater and I usually have 2 or 3 small bowls of different dry dog food for my fur-child to pick from.I was so surprised to hear, chomp chomp and checked to see what food was being consumed. It was Taste of the Wild, Pacific Stream Smoked Salmon. I found the best price on Chewy.com and ordered a small bag. My girl absolutely loves this dry dog food! The pieces are small, like a #2 pencil eraser perfect for little Chihuahua mouths.Now I only have one bowl of dry food! Taste of the Wild Pacific Stream Smoke-Flavored Puppy Recipe. Not just for puppies! I am constantly filling my chi's bowl to much of my surprise.

Best dog food for the money

I rescued a 4 month old Belgian Malinois puppy exactly 6 weeks ago. She was extremely malnourished, had horrible diarrhea, and was literally scratching her fur out. Her coat was fine, dry, brittle and the color of pale straw. Having 45 years of experience with this breed and German Shepherd Dogs, I had a strong hunch that this poor pup had terrible food allergies. The rescue organization proudly told me that they fed all of their dogs Blue Buffalo. When they interviewed me and asked me what I intended to feed Ginger, I told them absolutely nothing except for TOTW Pacific Stream Puppy formula. By the second week, she stopped itching completely. Before the end of the the 3rd week, her coat was beginning to restore to a proper oily texture and her true coat colors began to return. Her fur also began growing back in around her ears. She weighed 30 lbs when I took her in for her 2nd booster shots. The vet remarked at how thin and unhealthy she appeared that day and I told them she was on the same Pacific Stream Salmon diet my last arthritic Malinois was on, and that her health should turn around fairly quickly.I returned to the vet last week and asked them to please weigh her. Due to COVID, I could not go inside with her for the appointment and speak with our vet. They finished and brought her back out to me. The vet tech said that in 3 weeks, Ginger went from a malnourished, very ill puppy to a perfectly healthy, 5 month old gorgeous little girl and that they did not even recognize her as the same dog. They again asked what I was feeding her. They informed me that in the 3 week span of time she went from being ill and underdeveloped at only 30 pounds to a perfect weight and condition of 42 pounds. Ginger is now alert, lightning fast, and has proper muscle mass. She also caught up on where she should have been with puppy teething.I will also note that my last Malinois developed terrible allergies at 6 years old and started having bad arthritic problems. The day I finally had to say goodbye to my sweet girl of 10 years, my vet told me that I was able to slow the arthritis progression significantly and give her about 18 months of an extra quality of life that they did not expect her to have. (The Pacific Stream fish based protein kibble and its oils plus 2 tablespoons of olive oil daily were my secret to combating the arthritis and its inflammation.)It was through sheer research and luck that I found this brand and formula of food. The results I have obtained with both of my Mals have been nothing short of remarkable. I do see in the news that there may now be a link between grain free and the use of lentils, potatoes, peas, etc and DCM in dogs. As soon as I can transition little Ginger to an appropriate adult food, I am going to try the Pacific Stream Adult food with Ancient Grains recipe and hope that she does just as well. You can feed the Ancient Grains variety to puppies, however I am going to wait as she is doing superbly at the moment.I do not work for Taste of the Wild. I do not receive compensation or anything else of that nature from them. But as a man who values his dogs as much or more than anything else in this world, I tell dog lovers our success with allergies and the results we've had so that they don't need to suffer. If your dog has allergies, give this food a try. I do not have experience with the Ancient Grains variety, but I would suggest trying it if you have a concern with DCM in your adult dog. You can spend 3 times the amount that Taste of the Wild costs and purchase another brand, but I seriously doubt that you will be feeding better quality food and will only be spending extra money on dog food that is unnecessary. I use the money saved each month on food to buy Ginger toys and brain game puzzles that keep her mind stimulated and in top shape. A few days ago, I sent the rescue organization an updated picture of Ginger and they were amazed, also saying that she did not even look like the same dog. I agree.

I cannot say enough how satisfied we are with this food.

Picky dogs

I have some super picky dogs. They are not big fans of this food, they however will eat it because it’s all they have until this bag is gone. I will not be buying it again! There is pros and cons to this food, Pro: is it appears to be good clean ingredients, I like that recalls are low (that is have noticed myself), seems to be a healthy food and has done incredible for my dogs having amazing coat quality and being so shiny. They have very course coats and double coat. However for the Con: Yes my dogs are super picky so I would not recommend this to those incredibly picky eaters, Con number 2 and what does it for me is my dogs have some HORRID RANCHED gas on this food! None of my dogs (my oldest being 4yrs old) has NEVER had Gas EVER! 2 weeks in of feeding this and ... MoreI have some super picky dogs. Every dog is so different, so it’s difficult for me to say if this is a recommended food or not, however if yours is already prone to being gassy this “could” make it worse. Not sure why this has caused my yahoos to be so smelly but for us we won’t be buying it again, which it is a massive bummer because the health of their skin and coat is so incredible on this food!

Quality food our dogs LOVE! 😊

We have been feeding our dogs taste of the wild for a good 2 years now. As We are breeders of the xl bully ect it’s important to us that we insure our dogs are consuming only the highest quality of kibble. I am happy to say taste of the wild is definitely a high quality kibble that we trust and will always stick by and recommend to people who ask on our socials or who buy a pup from us.We love how digestible this kibble is, how it leaves our dogs coats nice and shiny, it’s grain free no allergies, helps keep their immune system strong.

Saved my pup and my pocket book!!!

We've been feeding Taste of the Wild Pacific Stream for over 12 years now. When our Siberian Husky Ahnu was a puppy she had serious skin issues. Our vet helped us with her diet and ultimately helped us find and start her on this food. We saw a noticeable difference immediately. Our vet assumed it was the lack of Chicken Fat and Chicken Meal, but honestly I didn't care. My dogs skin was healing and her coat was coming back in. Within a year she was fully healed and absolutely beautiful. Even today her coat is beautiful and she is now 13 years old! We never thought we'd get this age from her. I hold TOW responsible for my dogs continuing vitality and health. I truly believe she would be long gone if we hadn't found this company.

Wanted to love it

One of them, who is actually from a different breeder and was eating purine pro plan when I got her has done really well in this food. After the switch her poops were barely smelly compared to the opposite on the other food, and her wax buildup in her ears also cleared up and have not had a problem since. Her stools are also nice and firm and regular. Unfortunately that is not the case for my male ES. His poop has been soft borderline diarrhea on this food since we got him which is extremely difficult to clean up. He was on the bison flavor originally, but there was no change with the salmon flavor either.
