This is easy, I have the original. But after trying to master it, I found out that It would be much easier with a stop switch. So I purchased the X2 mainly for this function, this pedal very simple to operate. I just needed a basic pedal, i.e. play rhythm and switch over for fills, etc. The other effect I don't have a need for at the moment. I did change out the volume knob with a wing knob, so I can vary the volume live if needed. No my only issue with this pedal. I recently purchased the Boss RC 1 and returned it primarily because of the need to double tap the pedal to stop the loop. I found this annoying, especially in a live application. Your timing has to be perfect and for first time "loopers" this can be a challenge. I traded this unit in for the Ditto X 2. This unit provides very good sound replication of my acoustic guitar and has a dedicated Stop function which makes transitioning from your recorded loop ( accompanied by your lead) back to your live rhythm a seamless process. If only for this function it is worth the money. You still have the ability to overdub as you do with the Boss unit but it also adds a few cool effects when placed in the effects mode. The concept is brilliant. The beat sense tech is also brilliant. The remote mic is necessary. The remote mic is cheap flimsy junk that will fail. No oem replacement. No specs on mic. Warranty support is not available. Music Tribe? A poor excuse for manufacturing support. It’s a bizzare setup. Brilliant innovation coupled with cheap manufacturing and online member forum as support. Never, ever, will I purchase any product under the Behringer umbrella. Uli Behringer evidently doesnt mind dragging his name through the mud, and taking previously reputable companies with him.

While I usually enjoy TC products, this looper seems poorly thought out. I found two major problems with it: First, the "Beat Sense" mics on the unit, as expected, respond much too slowly to any change in rhythm. (Yes I know it comes with an external mic as well, but I was only testing the device with my guitar, and it should have been easy for it to pick up my groove). Second: It seems to me that the whole concept of this box is bizarre. Once you have activated beat sense, it continues to "listen to" and change the groove as you are playing! And unless you, or your drummer are like some kind of robotic drum machine, there's no way in hell you're going to be able to follow a device that is already trying to follow you! I can't explain how tremendously this thing has helped me write new ideas and arrangements, and build on my own improvisational skills. My best friend invested more money and bought a $500 looper pedal from pigtronix, and he said he was more impressed with the sound quality of my ditto lol. It all seemed like a dream come true, but I used it so profusely that eventually the button got worn out. A problem that is probably fixable but disappointing nonetheless. If the button doesn't respond when you mash it, it defeats the whole purpose of the pedal, since timing is everything with it. I've used my Ditto X2 for a year with no problems, but have not gigged with it yet. I use a drum machine and play solo and seated. My timing with the buttons is great, and I would like to say I record and hit the same bypass button to start playback. I stop the drums before this and synchronize the timing as I go. This requires some stopping and starting, then practice leads. I then stop the looper if I want to play chords and stop the song. Without using the drum machine, say acoustic or utilizing a live drummer it would probably be a piece of cake! I always had the desire to play leads with some of my songs, so to me it was a dream come true! I love mine, and so far it's been very dependable. I go easy on my pedals and don't stomp. This is really a guitar players’ device, where practically everything is done with the 2 foot switches.- You can add an infinite amount of layers, with absolutely zero quality loss.- True bypass.- Ideal for improvising against chord progressions, or studying solos. And I’m not even a good player ☺.- Tracks can be uploaded to Mac or PC (AIFF and WAV format), and reloaded again. You can also download backing tracks from a website, but I haven’t tried that yet.- Tracks remain stored even if you turn the power off.The bad:- You can store only one track at the time a few banks to store current projects would be a great addition.- It remains a challenge to get the timing of a loop (going from the end back to the beginning of the cycle) without glitches. But that counts for all loopers.- Line out is at the top end, instead of at the left side of the pedal, which is impractical on an already full pedalboard. But that may be just me.
Great looper to build up several tracks of a song. Has a good loop length. Compact and can run on Batteries or a 9v psu. Good durable build quality.
Great pedal. I mainly for this for the seperate stop button, and it's the cheapest one I could find by a trusted brand. All the other loop pedals with a so switch are in a higher price bracket Its built well and works just fine. The stop button allows u to stop the loop or if ur recording, save the loop instantly without needing it to playback first which is great for use live. The big volume control knob means u can adjust the volume with ur foot too which is a side bonus. U can plug in 2 9v batteries if u need it to last longer without plugging it on which is nice. Downsides are the physical size, being that big will take up space on your board and I find the slo-mo and reverse functions unnecessary for me.
The whole main reason I got this pedal was pretty simple. I wanted to be able to record riffs and songs of myself playing through this pedal, and then I wanted to save them to my computer. The looper only stores five minutes at a time, so I thought that's ok because I would save riffs onto my computer, and then whenever I wanted to, load them back onto the looper, I thought that would be fine.NOOO! This feature does not work for this pedal. You cannot record yourself playing, then save it onto a computer, delete it from the pedal and then load it back onto the pedal with the computer. This feature doesn't work. You can go through the motions that the manual says to do, but as soon as you plug the pedal into an amp, nothing plays!
