Ive been looking into some boost pedals for a while. I almost decided to buy the mini version of this. But one day this one popped in my recommended. Once I watched a few reviews on this I had to have it! It sold me on the ability to have some EQ alone! The comes the esprate gain and level controls. And Fat-Clean-Mid tone switch??! YES PLEASE! Highly recommend this especially for more budget/space friendly boards. Also, I recommend putting it AFTER overdrive. If you put it before it gives your drive a more distortion like tone (if youre into that then go for it I guess :P) .

I used to think that boost pedals were dumb and that I would never use one. But after watching dozens of videos and seeing several big name endorsements, I thought that the Spark might be for real, and it is now EASILY my favorite pedal. Simply put, it just makes your tone better, no matter what kind of guitar or pickups you run through it. The sound quality and versatility are the best features. It gives you a great boost, but it's extremely amp-like, in the same way that clean channels on good tube amps break up if you crank the gain. And the little toggle switch gives you three different "clean channels" with which to work. The middle position has the most clean headroom and is the classic boost, but still breaks up a little if you max the gain. The Mid and Fat ... The Mid and Fat sounds add beef to your tone in fantastic ways, and I use those most often. Do you think that single-coils and/or jazz box guitars sound thin compared to solidbodies with humbuckers, like me? The Mid and Fat settings will fix that for ya. I love my Strats and my jazz guitars so much more now. Turn up the gain and the Mid and Fat settings will give you a great overdrive too. The best part about cranking the gain on the Spark is how well it makes your sound hit tube amps. It gives you glorious saturation at any volume level. This is the perfect pedal to put first in your drive section. Your other drive pedals will greatly benefit as well. Worried about tone? This is the most transparent pedal I've ever used, even more so than TC's other drive pedals (which I also love). The two EQ controls are fantastic and give the pedal a huge advantage over nearly every other boost pedal. Whether fully down or cranked, you get usable sounds in great frequency ranges.Simply put, this is the best pedal I've ever heard. Having volume AND gain, plus two great EQ controls, plus THREE voices to choose from puts this pedal above every other boost on the market. Seriously, just buy it already.

Its a clean boost! It can be very loud! It has EQ options! Its transparent in the Clean position and yet is adds some sort of fullness to the sound. It certainly makes the tone better but not for much as it IS a transparent clean boost. Its not hi-fi but kind of makes me feel that my overall tone gets that hi-fi-like richness. When the Fat and Mid positions are engaged there is a large volume increase in comparisson to the Clean position! Must back the level a bit there though. The Gain knob is not much of interest to me as it is NOT creamy sweet but rather has a hard clipping to it (to my ears). So I use it in its Clean position to just add richness to my overall tone and is placed at the end of my chain that goes into the front end of my Egnater Tweaker ... MoreIts a clean boost! Knobs feel firm and I love the fack that Bass and Treble have a notch in the 12 o'clock position. This is the position that is 100% transparent and adds no coloration to your amp's EQ or tone.At first I thought its not doing much but if you play with it on the clean setting with low Gain for a while and you then switch it off, you certainly can feel what it does! Makes the tone richer but not much like some other boosters might do. All in all I will keep it as it really can add lots of transparent volume boost if needed in live situations and for recording in the studio gives a more rounder richer tone.BTW, it works great with my pedals a Ross style compressor and a Dubmle style OD. Also great with my Tremolo, Delay and Reverb stomp boxes!Price is a no brainer. Get one while they're still so cheap!!!

Using this one with my JCM900 MKIII 2500 and i find it to be able to do just about anything from adding just abit of dirt on a clean sound to total nutjob metal rythms/leads.It has 3 modes, fat, clean and mid. Fat setting boosts low end, works great with single coils. Clean boots everything equally and mid boosts the mid.I usually run mid boost as i play thrash rythms for the most part and it does this great! The 4 knobs seems to be pretty responsive so be careful with the gain knob as it can get too much!I bought this pedal mostly because of its 26db boost and the bass/treb knobs as i can tune in my tone to perfection. Overall i love this pedal and i think it is the best clean booster on the market.I gave it 3 stars for sound, has nothing to to with the ... Price is abit high, but when you hold this pedal in your hand and feel how solid it is you understand why.
I had one of these and sold it..regretted it so bought a new one. Very versatile pedal. I use it before my overdrive for different degrees of gain. Better than the Boss GE7 zI used previously in this position. Recommended
Took a bit of a flyer on this as I sort of have an end result in my head and im not entirely sure how to get there. i have a hybrid amp that has a touch of valve harmonics that im trying to exagerate. this is a step in the right direction (and with some fiddling might even be the thing) i think what i was expecting was more like a compressor, but this is more or a transparent drive type effect (at least with my amp). however it is first drive pedal that ive loved without faffing about with the dials for hours. am getting nice bluesy /seventies blues rock tones using the clean setting on the toggle, and the gain about midway. the fat setting starts pushing into proper overdriven sounds, but with a nice natural tone. so despite not being exactly what i was looking for ... TC ELECTRONIC SPARK BOOSTER PEDAL.This booster pedal has more than one use. 3 settings switch,Bass and treble EQ, the Level knob by itself. It's like buying an overdrive pedal too. Can by used in front of distortion for more distortion, or after a distrotion pedal for a clean boost. GREAT pedal GREAT price. Can even have two, one to change your overall guitar sound and the other for your solo part. SUPER pedal!!! Also very good sales engineer always wanting to help Justin Dunn,(THANK YOU Justin)
I purchased this 4 knob Spark Booster to use as an eq after compression and overdrive for active bass guitar. I liked the results so much I was able to remove a large preamp from my pedalboard. If you're already happy with your core tone and looking for a great priced subtle eq/boost I highly recommend this pedal. DJ City's price was fantastic, transaction & packing excellent and shipping was reasonably fast.
