Great phone. Even at this price range it does everything I need it to do. Latest Android update, battery is great, 5g and even comes with a clear phone cover. Earphones are cheap and can be uncomfortable over a period of time and the camera is average. But overall for what you get for the price of this phone is truly bang for your buck.

Great phone. I bought it to replace my Xiaomi Redmi Note 9. The Note 9, and some other models, have a persistent fault where you lose earspeaker functionality. Xiaomi can't seem to fix it.The only plus of the Note 9 is 128Gb of memory but it's not 5g. The TCL is a clear winner!

Pros: Lovely bright screen, great battery life, reasonable price and 5g ready. Cons: Camera could be better and it needs twin speakers.

Good for the price, but frustrating.

Prior to this I had a Motorola G 5G Plus, which was similar in price and I really liked. I went with the TCL due to the screen size, refresh rate and claimed battery life. These claims are all true. I play slot of games and the display is excellent in a phone at this price, brightness is great and the battery lasts a long time. What don't I like...the buttons at the bottom of the screen! I find I regularly hit the home or open apps button when using the keyboard, which is extremely frustrating. Yes, there is the option to hide these buttons and use gestures by swiping up at certain angles, but found this was very inaccurate and would gi E me the wrong action. Yes, there is the option to hide these buttons and use gestures by swiping up at certain angles, but found this was very inaccurate and would gi E me the wrong action. What I likes with the Motorola was that these button were hidden and the action of swiping up from the bottom of the screen made the buttons appear so you could then select the action you want. The TCL is sadly lacking this. If you are thinking of buying this phone for the camera, don't! It is trash, even for a phone at this price. The fingerprint sensor on the back is in a great location, but I find that it often won't recognise my fingerprint, which gets frustrating. Not sure if this is a.phobe things, but I find that it frequently disconnects from the internet, even when at home with strong wifi. It happens often during games, but also happens when on Facebook or other apps. I would suggest changing how screenshots are taken. These use a press of the lock and volume down buttons, which are positioned very close to each other, meaning accidental screenshots are often taken when trying to lock the phone or adjust volume. Overall it's an okay phone...good for the price, but U should have got another Motorola.

Great budget phone

I bought this phone for my elderly parents. It does exactly what it needs to and is easy for them to use. It runs the current Android version which is important for their fitbit apps.

Pros: The screen is the best I have ever seen at this price point. Reader Mode is a revelation, and saves battery life immensely. The inbuilt screen recorder is excellent. Notes is quite user-friendly and provides various options, which some other manufacturers don't. Cons: It would be useful to be able to synchronise my old notes from Samsung on to the TCL notes.

Pros: Lovely phone - Very responsive - Unbelievable battery live (I am very heavy user and get almost two days) Cons: Screen freezes, very seldom but does happen. Camera fairly OK but not super sharp.

My Son needed a new handset as he started high school. He chose the handset because of the of the 90hertz refresh rate for his games....whatever that means..... and NFC for the google pay. he also said the handset battery lasts a long time. if he's happy I'm happy.

Not exactly happy

I've had this phone for less than a week... Even doesn't always turn on when unlocking, just goes get. When in game mode the colours are so bright that the images don't appear as clear. When watching video, the pixelation isn't great so visuals can appear blocky rather than clear and defined. When talking on the phone, audio sounds echo as if in a tunnel. Don't waste your money

Pros: Probably the cheapest 5G phone, but its performance is good, camera is quite good and it looks smart. Cons: On/off switch is rather low and can often be pressed accidentally
