I didn’t expect this model of TCL Google TV to be this good. Easy to set up just follow the on screen instructions and Google Home app on my iPad. Picture quality is crystal clear. Sound quality is not bad, too. Voice control is smart. Heaps of apps for me to download from Google App Store. I even don’t need to subscribe any prepaid online video streaming services because there are so many free content available! I hate myself that I don’t have plenty time to watch this TV! It’s way better than my Samsung smart TV that I bought last year in terms of choices of apps and online streaming content. It has Ethernet port that you can plug in your Ethernet cable for fast speed. Now I know why TCL is the best selling TV in the US now! Reasonable price and outstanding ... I originally agreed with a reviewer that the tv is crap. However, other makes and models in my opinion don't look their best out of the box. When i tuned this tv in and sat down to watch it i was seriously thinking about returning it. After tweaking the settings, brightness, contrast, gamma etc, i had the tv looking amazing.I found that if the adaptive controls are all turned off the picture looks natural and sharp. The purchaser just has to have a little patience, go through the settings one by one until he or she is happy with the end result. Under $500 is still a good price for a 43 inch tv with a 4k screen. And with a 3 year warranty. Other makes can only offer 12 months.

Beautiful TV. Has decent fundamentals of what you want in a smart TV. Able to add a lot of extra common apps via the App Store. The picture is decent, but depends on your settings. The only negative aspect is sometimes the apps glitch. Either they freeze, you can’t exit, or you can’t open and various error messages appear. Also, if you use auxiliary sound sometimes this does not register so you have to restart the TV. This may be just a one off issue, but I wouldn’t say the product is worth the price. I had all these issues with my previous TCL, so I would claim the brand is a no frills brand and if there are any better performing screens out there, they might be more convenient. The sales person and the sales experience were excellent. Unfortunately this model was not on display and the only TCL that was, had no remote control available. That model showed a fine picture from in front, but no volume was available. It was not able to be viewed from anywhere but in front of the screen. On setting up at home, and going through all the setting options to get the best possible reception, we discovered that the picture was hazy, and of extremely poor quality when viewed from anywhere other than directly in front. The sound is poor compared with what we were used to, but I understand that would be so, and in fact I am gradually adjusting to the sound quality. This was a poor choice as it turns out, but I acknowledge that the decision to purchase was mine.
We finally decided to pull the trigger on this TV after a little research and after a few days of use I have to say we are really pleased. We had never owned anything from TCL before and are always skeptical about trying cheaper brands. So far I've been really impressed by the smoothness and responsiveness of the operating system. All the streaming apps we use are covered including the digital versions of our free to air channels. The TV paired well with Google and the rest of our smart devices and was simple to set up. If I had to pick on something about the TV it would have to be the sound, but honestly after some setting changes it sounds fine. The sheer size of the TV was unexpected and was so much bigger than we realised but it looks great in the space.
Bought this as my first TV moving out of home, have had for a month now. Easily will fit into a hatchback car. Easy unboxing and stand assembly (phillips screwdriver required). Good size even sitting 2m back. It has decent enough picture quality for the price, audio quality is not as good but to be expected for a TV this price. You can easily connect external audio using 3.5mm or HDMI. Highlights are 4K HDR 10, Dolby Atmos/Vision, HDMI 2.1 ports (current newest standard) with ARC and Google TV. If connecting to a laptop/smart streaming box be sure to use good quality HDMI cables e.g. HDMI 2.0 or better. It also includes a composite adapter for retro gaming. Software is OK but I use an external box anyway so not too fussed.
Bought this TV after my 13yo TV died suddenly. Being 13 years newer than my old TV, I full expected it to be better quality in every aspect - not even close! Horrendous quality audio was immediately apparent, and no settings can fix it. Video quality was okay, but movement was not great. HDMI connection to my laptop was delayed & choppy, and audio/video weren't quite in sync. Very slow software too, which occasionally got stuck in 'loading'. Remote isn't great either, with minimal buttons. TV was also very slow to react to the remote (up to 3 seconds just to change the volume). I called TCL customer support, but they weren't able to help me fix the issues with this TV. TCL customer support is apparently based overseas and there was definitely a language barrier, ... Will absolutely be returning as soon as I can.
Picture quality is good. However set up instructions are very poor, including telling you to click on a 'tick' symbol when there isn't one! Turns out it's meant to be the bent arrow ( down and to the left ). The internet is useless as all instructions that come up are for America which has a completely different remote. The TV is also slow to update when you click on something, say Netflix or a free to air program. Sometimes there are icons on screen that are not on the remote, such as green, yellow, blue and red 'buttons' with nothing on the remote that corresponds. Smart TV, I'd say it's pretty dumb - as are the people who program it and write instructions. Aside from decent picture quality I would not recommend it.
This tv , (after tweaking the picture settings) looks very clear and precise. Why oh why didn't TCL include a remote control with channel numbers on it. The channel + channel - keys are a nuisance, especially if you are watching channel 1 and want to change to channel 13 for example. There is a button which brings up a numerical keyboard on the screen but in my opinion is just another unnecessary step to go through just to change channels. I have a sound bar connected to the tv as this is a must have. The sound is poor without one. The mute button on the remote turns the sound on and off when the tv speakers are used. However when a sound bar is connected, the mute button only mutes the sound. Doesn't unmute it. Have to press vol + or vol - to get the sound back on. ... I have had this sound bar connected the same way through the e-arc hdmi terminal for 2 other Panasonic tvs in the past. Have never had a problem with the mute button on those remotes. Have spent a long time on the phone with the TCL helpdesk trying to sort this problem out to no avail, despite resetting tv and sound bar. Just hoping any future firmware updates will fix this. Other than these issues this tv isn't too bad for the price.
Had to return first set as it had a dead pixel cluster dead centre of screen. JB replaced easily enough. Picture settings out of the box are too bright and need considerable fiddling. Interface seems clunkier than expected. The native Google Assistant is somewhat erratic however it is easily linked to Alexa and responds better with it, strangely given its a Google TV. Am having problems casting from PC to set with voice sync. It is way out. There is no easy calibration and picture disappears when the sync adjustment setting is bought up so you need to guess rather than visually adjust. That said if you play with settings a reasonable picture can be achieved. It is smart but perhaps just a little too smart for an easy customer experience.
