I bought this for my bedroom tv ‘cos even at the lowest volume the TV could be a bit too loud at times. The TV sound was also very tinny, especially at low volumes. I thought the sound bar would improve things. Unfortunately it didn’t. I’m giving it a 2.5 star (so 3 on this).Pros• easy to set up• sounds ok (not great) at medium and high volumesCons• sound is scratchy and hissy at low volumes. You hear a lot of white noise and some dialogue is not heard. I tried it on Bluetooth as well as via TV output with the same result, so it’s definitely the unit. So in order to eliminate the background hiss I have to turn the volume up to the same level as the TV, basically making it useless to me. Again it makes it completely useless to me especially since there is no way to turn off the voice.I only tried it with the sub in the store and it sounded ok there. But offcourse I could not check the really low volumes with all the background noise.I’m taking it back tomorrow.

Clear sound that can drop off at the top end. The subwoofer needs to be on a hard floor to get the best from the bass. Soundbar is slim and a good size in front of a TV as to not block any vision. Remote is thin and tiny

After getting a new Smart TV with subpar inbuilt speakers, I decided it would be best to invest in a sound bar that would improve the quality and clarity of the sound that I get from watching stuff on TV. And boy what a mistake that was. This is one of those instances where doing a bit of research beforehand would've saved me a lot of time and trouble. This sound bar is really bad. There's no kinder way to put it. It feels cheap and is made primarily out of plastic, with the subwoofer being the only thing that felt somewhat acceptable (though, it is just a hollow wooden box with a speaker in it so that's not saying much). While the soundbar was relatively easy to setup at first through HDMI Arc and allowed me to adjust the volume with one remote, I noticed very early on that it was super sensitive and would either play things very loudly or just not at all, almost like there was a threshold of sound below a certain level that it wouldn't pick up and play audibly. When watching films that have quieter moments, it occasionally wouldn't pick up on the dialogue and music, so I'd have to turn it up, only to be blasted by sound the moment the film got slightly louder. On top of that, it would frequently disconnect from the TV when left idle for a few minutes and I'd have to go to the trouble of unplugging it from the TV, reconnecting it again and setting it to the HDMI Arc option. After a few instances of this happening, it eventually decided that it just wasn't going to connect through HDMI Arc at all and that's when I decided it was time to return it. I don't know if the soundbar was faulty, or just not particularly good to begin with but there's no way I'd risk buying something from TCL again if this is indicative of their quality. Ended up exchanging this for a far better Samsung Sound Bar/Sub Woofer that I haven't had any troubles with so far. Summary of the story; do your research before buying something and make sure the ratings are better than 2.5 stars.
