Replaces an 18 year old Teac hifi. Easy to connect to my turntable and speakers and router.Set up was problem-free with the Technics audio centre android app and great sound through my bookshelf speakers from cd/lp/radio/streaming outputs controlled either from the supplied remote control or the app.

Great sound from this versatile receiver. Brings out the detail in vinyl and also CDs sound good.Minor gripe is that there are quick buttons for a few inputs but not the photo.

The Technics SA-c600 does not disappoint interns of sound quality or appearance - both excellent, but it, and more specifically the app have definite shortcomings w.r.t. her friendliness and comparison to other systems which have left me disappointed! 4 shortfalls to mention:a) For some odd reason, internet radio does not include BBC stations!b) It appears you cannot save internet radio stations as favourites, only DAB radio stationsc) The app doesn't display what piece of music is currently being played, unlike Onkyo and most othersd) The front display does she what piece of music is being displayed, but NOT who the artist is (Onkyo does!)All of these could be easily fixed by a software update...come on Technics, try harder to be user friendly and keep up with ... MoreThe Technics SA-c600 does not disappoint interns of sound quality or appearance - both excellent, but it, and more specifically the app have definite shortcomings w.r.t. her friendliness and comparison to other systems which have left me disappointed! 4 shortfalls to mention:a) For some odd reason, internet radio does not include BBC stations!b) It appears you cannot save internet radio stations as favourites, only DAB radio stationsc) The app doesn't display what piece of music is currently being played, unlike Onkyo and most othersd) The front display does she what piece of music is being displayed, but NOT who the artist is (Onkyo does!)All of these could be easily fixed by a software update...come on Technics, try harder to be user friendly and keep up with competitors!

It needs to be used with the Technics App. Then you get a fantastic range of options for radio, streaming, airplay and casting etc. You can set it with google home then forget that app.It is complicated to set up and link into Apple Music. However once you start to use it it is brilliant. I connected it to my old hifi speakers and it produces a lovely sound.
I expected the Technics SA-C600 to be a competent "lifestyle" product, but boy was I wrong! The Technics doesn't look beefy, and its specs don't suggest that it would be, but it punches WAY above its class to take on products much more expensive. In fact, its finesse, detail, focus, and control far exceeded products I had on-hand that cost twice as much. This was the best audio purchase I've made in the last decade... maybe ever. If the SA-C600 is any indication, Technics is not only back, they're pointing the way!
I’ve got poor FM and DAB reception in my house so I often listen to internet radio. I bought this to replace an old Marantz unit that had lost the ability to connect to BBC and Bauer Radio stations. The Technics gets all the Bauer network stations but no BBC, which is surprising and disappointing for a system being sold after the BBC changed their service, other than that it’s an excellent little system for my kitchen, with very good sound quality through my old Dali Spektor 1 speakers. The iOS app is quick and easy to use, a massive step up from the terrible app that the Marantz had.
The only electronic item I have ever bought which does not have an on/off switch! You have to switch it off at the wall. Quality of DAB reception not good. Nor is FM. My old Technics receiver was much better. No tone or balance controls, unlike old receiver/amp.
Purchased the system about a month ago after being advised on my options by Euan at Richard Sounds Newcastle. Euan listened to what I wanted from a HiFi system and budget available.Received great advice ,options available and decided on the Technics system. Was happy to setup and install it for me and carry out the necessary modifications to my existing speakers. Service received was brilliant and the quality of sound was exceptional from the Technics wether it was classical, Jazz , Blues and Heavy Rock. The appearanceof the kit looks pretty cool.
I was in the market for a hifi with a CD player, streaming, DAB, and some way to plug my turntable in, in other words I wanted everything and here comes the Technics the answer to all my prayers. The form factor of the unit is perfect from size, dimensions, placed next to a matching record deck simply looks amazing. Sound quality wise for me incredible ( I’m using Monitor Audio Bronze ) such a balanced full sound great definition to detail all the highs lows and vocals sound brilliant, there are options in the menus to adjust settings regarding your speaker placement which it does for you. Technics app covers all your need and you soon get used to the user interface which is easy to pick up and adjust settings to your requirements. DAB radio with supplied aerial very good after trying a couple of placements. At the back of the device it allows for banana plug connections for your speaker for me a easier way to connect my speakers. CD quality is amazing playing some of my electronic Jarre//Yello and some prog Genesis / Phil Collins etc did not disappoint. A dedicated MM phono socket with earthing point absolutely brilliant ( not a lot of all in one systems have this ). The display in the front very clear and easy to read all the information you need, the cd tray if wanted can be illuminated at night which looks amazing .As always proof is in the listening if you have a chance to listen in store you will not be disappointed. The Technics has met and exceeded my expectations.
I paid a bit more for this after the new mini hifi i bought had constant issues... so this is a replacement... and WOW..... its so good I can't describe the sound quality through my Focal speakers. Amazing clarity. It really does go as loud as you want without distortion.Absolutely the best bit of tech I've ever bought. Not a cheap set up with the speakers, but if music is important to you... technics sa-c600 and focal arai speakers are what you need!
