The food surface seals quickly so inside it's not as dry as we had with oven cooking. So yes again.Is it good value for money? This feels well made, many other big brand air fryer are quite flimsy. The FW is a nice solid machine, comes with everything you'd need. So another yes.Will it save money? If you use it instead of the oven, and I can't see why you couldn't then you've instantly cut your oven cooking cost in half. Of course you have to buy it first so savings won't cover that for quite a while but usually that's not how we look at this kind of item. So I'd give it a yes, we will have a lower electricity bill.Are there any obvious problems? Not really other than it is physically quite big, the oven space is below the silver door top, above that it's controls, fan and heater element. The main air vent is at the back so you need a little space and not have it tight to a wall.Overall I rate this air fryer as a good purchase. Looks good, works well and saves a bit of money.

A quality oven let down by its poor instructions

This is a really nice appliance, which has a feel of quality about it. It's easy to work and set up and comes with a good range of accessories. In operation it's relatively quiet and remains 'hand-touchable'. It produces food which is both well and evenly cooked. It fits on my counter-top nicely and is certainly more energy efficient than my main electric oven.In terms of what's not so good is that the appliance comes with poor quality instructions - the main instruction manual is full of pictograms and is unintelligible. A sticker which came on the front of the machine offered the opportunity of downloading a recipe book using a QR code. What came back was a recipe book in Russian rather than English. About what I expected. Didn't blow me away, but acceptable!

I bought a Tefal FW501827 refurbished here on eBay. I wanted a combined air fryer and dehydrator. The unit comes with presets. For instance, the chips preset sets the fryer to 200 degrees for 20 minutes... you can then adjust each the time and the temperature up and down to suit whether your chips are thick or thin, and according to how many you have in the oven. I think some people think air fryers are like automatic microwaves. They're not. You need to keep an eye on the food, and get a feel for how long you need to cook things for. This is a 2Kw oven, so only 400w to 500w less than a normal oven however, it supposed to give you quicker cooking times, so it may be more efficient overall. Dehydrated fruit - took a long time, 14 hours to do 3 apples and orange and two lemons (sliced to 5-8mm thick) I have enjoyed using this in place of my oven, although it is quite small, with the biggest chicken you can fit inside being 1.2kg, which is not very big.

I bought this to go with my small Tefal Air Fryer and Grill because it has a larger capacity and multiple shelves, so I can cook different things at once. I am definitely an air fryer convert. I find you do have to shuffle the shelves around to get things to cook evenly. Also, if something like bacon needs turning over it gets messy because the fat drips through the racks when you remove them to turn food. The instruction manual definitely needs sorting. It's not helpful at all. The unit is easy to clean, and quieter to run than my smaller model. I like that you can see the food through the door if you activate the light. Like all air fryers this cooks much faster than an oven with excellent results. One thing that bothered me is in the manual for this model it clearly states do not run empty, so am I not allowed to preheat it? Good mini oven/air fryer but again no instructions

I am very happy with my new air fryer (my first!) I had read all the reviews before I bought it. It is very different from other air fryers. I have used it several times since it arrived a week ago. I think it is a bit misleading to say that it will cook a meal for 6 - I would say 3/4. The baskets are quite small and as the shelves are close together food cannot be piled up. I would suggest perhaps including a tray instead of one of the baskets (I do realise that food should be placed in a single layer.) Like almost all the reviewers, I found the operating instructions very vague with pictures which I did not understand. PROS. The oven is quite compact and does not take up much space on the worktop. The door at the front makes it much easier to get things in and out compared to the 'drawer' type air fryer. It passes the first air fryer test and cooks frozen and homemade chips nicely. Second test to heat a pizza in half the time of conventional ovens also passed, and because pizzas often have to be cut in half to fit in a 'drawer' air fryer having two or three shelves to work with solves that problem It has enough capacity to cook a small joint, roast veg and warm up a few frozen Yorkshire puds for a small 'Sunday Lunch' for two. This was a bit of an impulse buy being tempted by sale price in Tefal shop and an enthusiastic salesgirl. We had a Tefal Actifry already which did lovely chips but we wanted a bit more and I had heard several friends saying all the wonderful things an air fryer can do. As we unpacked I searched for the instruction manual…I like to think I am of average intelligence and don’t need instructions how to get it out the box (instruction # 2) but I do need an explanation of diagram #10-13 which seems to be a lady lasering chips with one eye and a chefs hat weighing 500gms. Still puzzling that one. We’ve squeezed in and cooked a rotisserie chicken 1.2kg which thankfully was easy to understand given 8 pictures in the oh so limited instruction booklet. Perfect

Just like a mini oven. Love being able to see the food being done, without having to constantly open door. The accessories that come with the airfryer are great and come in handy. For a small family, this could easily make entire meals, you will just have to alternate the trays from top to bottom (as you'd expect, the higher trays cook faster and get crispier). For larger families such as mine (7 people), you would have to cook either the mains in there or the sides, doing both would involve a lot of alternating and times in between where food cooked first could go cold. Still, it is a useful gadget and I have made all sorts in there; chips, chicken, fish, nuggets, kebabs and even cookies and brownies. Quick, convenient & thrives on oven ready foods

These are my findings after a week of use. Day 1 was sausage rolls and the oven was so accurate and easy to use that they were perfect. It's a bit smaller inside that I expected. The pizza tray will only be good for those ultra cheap 6" pizzas in plastic and not the 14" home made ones I do myself.A well-trussed £4 chicken from Aldi was a shade too big for the rotisserie and left a terrible mess in the holes of the metal roof where it scraped against it every rotation. It turns out the roof does not come off for cleaning so I had a job with that since I had coated the chicken with a powdered rub that was now a charred mess pushed through the holes.The chicken itself was perfect after the exact stated time and temperature, it should be said.I then discovered it ... MoreThese are my findings after a week of use. Good Points: So far it's been an energy saver as I no longer have to use my oven & it doesn't need preheating. It cooks a 1.2 kg whole chicken very nicely in 60 minutes. I've also successfully cooked frozen breaded fish, oven chips, Aunt Bessie's Yorkshire puddings & roast potatoes. Time to get more adventurous with it! :)Improvement Points: Better instructions on how to best use it would be helpful, along with cleaning tips, as in, the type of cleaner & cloth to use which won't damage it, if indeed that's an issue. It also wasn't cheap, but I've bought at a time in which air fryers are in great demand.
