I bought this last week and have been trying to figure out how to work it. There are very few YouTube clips - none helpful and this was the red flag. I searched for more reviews online and they all confirmed my suspicions… it is a terribly designed product! The three presets on the left are completely useless, you cannot change the temperature of these. I’m not sure who thought this was a good design decision. If you select the ā€˜fry’ function from the right hand side you can change the temperature but there is no 100 degree setting, it jumps from 80-120. I have also been having trouble getting the temperature to a very low simmer for bolognese, it’s either not cooking at all or simmering too hard. Literally the worst product I’ve ever purchased. The only thing it’s useful for is boiling water quickly….

The we only used this once. The part that heats your pan is about the circumference of a water tumbler/glass. Nowhere near the size of the circle indicated in the picture. We put our cast iron fry pan on it and it nearly destroyed it as only the tiny middle circle heated, deforming the shape of the pan for a while. Have used a proper induction stove before and this should not happen. Do not buy

Fast & low pwr Simmer BUT some glaring omissionsn
5 January 2023

I bought this about 8 months ago as mum had also got one and it seemed a great way to offset the high gas prices.Pros -very fast , in fact 2200 watts on boost.Very low simmer in fact at 100 watts it's much lower than tefals other offerings but some competitors have 60w.Easy to clean a perfectly flat glass surface including controls.Lightweight, sleek and quite large capacity of 24 cm panBut...Heat setting misses the mark totally as mostly we cook with food that contains water and it's boiling point is 100 yet this only has 80 and 120 degrees. What was Tefal thinking. Granted the temperature of the surface is only a guide but more granularity at the lower settings would not go unmissed. Hardly use P5-P10 as boost is actually P11 and automatically resets ...Ā MoreI bought this about 8 months ago as mum had also got one and it seemed a great way to offset the high gas prices.Pros -very fast , in fact 2200 watts on boost.Very low simmer in fact at 100 watts it's much lower than tefals other offerings but some competitors have 60w.Easy to clean a perfectly flat glass surface including controls.Lightweight, sleek and quite large capacity of 24 cm panBut...Heat setting misses the mark totally as mostly we cook with food that contains water and it's boiling point is 100 yet this only has 80 and 120 degrees. What was Tefal thinking. Granted the temperature of the surface is only a guide but more granularity at the lower settings would not go unmissed. Hardly use P5-P10 as boost is actually P11 and automatically resets to your chosen power after 1 minute or so, which is handy so P5-P10 are a waste. But to be fair it is an express hobFurther bad news is the three left hand side programs are Boil Steam Nd soup which differ only in the defaultt time once you switch them on.The power level is fixed with no indication of what the level is bit it's certainly too high for all three functions.. I intend to place a wifi smart plug onto it to measure the power consumed on these settingsThe surface that inducts the heat into the pan while quite large only heats a small section of the pan about 10cm.So the pan misses on anumber of basic functions. Also it seems to rely on a duty cycle to regulate heat.. sure it powers up when you hit boost, you hear the transformers working harder, but more variable transformer current at low heat would very much improve this productStill it's a cheap way to start the induction journey and with a fairly low heat on p1 it can be used on a hotpot setting for an hour or more effectively.Just remember to treat the boil steam soup functions with the disdain they deserve lower the timer right down in all instances because those three functions are not fit for purpose

Happy with purchase
13 August 2024

We purchased to reduce our use of gas cooktop. Very happy with Hob. Very quick to heat up, water boils quicker on Hob than using a kettle! Which is reducing my time spent cooking šŸ˜€ We are not bothered by the noise, there is a low hum of the fan but this is similar to other appliances such as out fan-forced oven. Purchased on sale at a very good price. The only downside is that we can't adjust the heat setting for boiling and the pot easily boils over. Addressed this by using a larger pot and less water. Otherwise, a great product.

I wouldn’t buy again
16 November 2024

I bought this 5 months ago. I’m not in love with it. The preset settings are a bit confusing - I’d rather just use it like a normal cooktop with settings from low through to high. When cooking it can be difficult to get the touch display to turn up and down. You often have to touch it a number of times to get the heat to change. It also doesn’t keep a constant temperature / it will go high for a bit then drop down to low for a bit all while you’re on the same heat setting. Next time I’d pay a bit more for something of better quality.

Let down by poor instructions
22 November 2023

Just tested it out with boiled ehgs and was initially excited that it boiled so quickly. A tick for that. Couldn’t work out how to turn the heat down though, eggs were rattling, water was boiling furiously, I was cursing the manual for implying that the +/- button would adjust the heat.Worked out by trial and error that you can’t adjust the temperature on the boil function. You can adjust the time, though not to less than 5 minutes. You can adjust the ā€œpowerā€ on the fry, stir fry and hotpot functions. I wish the manual could have been specific about this. This is why I’ve knocked a star off. I wish modern companies would learn that an excellent product can be let down by poor instructions.
