Fits on a bench perfectly. Unlike other units it has a deep well so if you follow the gauge of how much oil to fill it with which is 4 litres you dont get oil frothing over the top keeping the clean up to nothing. The tray to remove crisp build up at the bottom is a great idea and easy to remove when you need to empty. The digital timer is also a great idea, so set the temp, put on your timer and walk away and wait for the buzzer.It lost a star because the unit does not tell you when the oil has reached its set temperature usually there is a red and a green light. Red light meaning the unit is on and heating up, then the green light indicator comes on when your oil has reached the desired temperature.

If you want to deep fry. This is a good machine. Affordable, heats oil quickly and works well. Timer is a bit average but does the job.Good Guys knocked a couple of bucks off the price so pretty happy with the purchase. Thanks Good Guys!

And you can put chips in the oven but a quick fry is delicious every time. Just have fried food as a treat and not every day. One dish I really like is to buy sushi from the store and dip each piece in tempura batter then flash fry. Serve with a dipping sauce and it is a real winner with guests. First fryer i ever bought and I love this fryer for so many reasons. 1. It is a neat compact stylish looking fryer 2. The oil filter under the heating element is one of the main reasons i bought this fryer. I think the mesh could be a little finer but maybe there is a reason for that 3. heats up very quickly to temperature. 4. Digital timer is great though could be a little louder considering you usually have an exhaust fan going 5. Love the design of the top cover with the vent at the rear and a window so you can see what you're frying though it condenses up quickly though easy to lift it (keeping it level) and giving it a quick wipe with a paper towel. 6. Easy to lift out the element and lift out the filter though you have to be ready to place the filter on some paper towels to soak up the oil before you shake the crumbs into a bin. You need to give it at least an hour before you do this to cool down. I think the manual recommends 2 hours. 7. Easy to remove the bin and give it a wash in the sink 8. Nice big carry handles on the side for careful lifting. 9. Slim design makes it easy to fit into a cupboard when you are not using the fryer and I have a couple of slim cupboards besides the oven that it fits neatly into. Tips: I always give the basket a wash in the sink and let it drain dry after every fry once it's cooled down, You don't want to let old oil build up it will make it sticky and your next fry items might stick to the sides and bottom. Also give the top cover a wash after a few fries and I wipe to control panel with a damp cloth and paper towel after every fry. One more tip, don't waste this fryer using frozen chips. The giveaway is they don't have instructions on the bag of frozen chips for frying, because they are already fried and suitable for ovens and air fryers only. I just roughly slice up baby potatoes with skin on and cook them on 180 for 10 minutes, lift up half way through and add a couple of battered fish fillets and the chips are deliciously moist on the inside and the fish deliciously crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. I highly recommend this fryer, I couldn't be happier.
I bought this because of the filter option and although it sounds great its not easy. I thought I could just lift it out but no - I have to disassemble the whole machine to get to the filter. There were NO INSTRUCTIONS- no recommended times for deep frying - no recipe book. I went to YouTube for help but they said the same. Most deep fryers have the recommended temperatures for what you want to deep fry. This deep fryer has none.
This Deep frier Is absolutely great! Super Easy to use, super Easy to clean. The filter allows you to take out all the crumbs, while only the small parts go through and sit on the bottom of the tank. The food comes out nice and crispy, the basket Is quite wide I have to Say, you can easily Cook bigger things. Overall, we love It!
Good size for my requirements and cost. Easy to pull apart to clean.Its a frier, it cooks like a frier, pretty simple.It has a filter part at the bottom to catch leftovers but Ive found it is not 100% and some still gets through, which means manual filtering will still need to be done albeit far less often.One thing I did not like though was the basket seems to sit on an angle when in the frier, which for me is slightly annoying but doesnt interfere with cooking at least.Overall I have no regrets buying this product but certainly could do with some slight adjustments.
Used this for the first time tonight . Love it cooks great . The digital timer flashes while cooking , I thought that was rather weird but from what I saw on a video it's ment to . I believe it will be easy to keep clea as it has the filter basket at the bottom , so it will be easier to keep clean. Not like my older one . I'm very happy with it
This product does not deep fry. With the oil filled to maximum capacity (four litres) the frying basket is only immersed by one inch. This contraption is an oversized, over-priced shallow fryer. It does not have enough capacity to fry one kilogram of potato chips. It is not as described, nor fit for purpose. The "oil filter" cleans as much as running a wire net spoon through a pan of oil; it gets the big bits but still leaves the oil dirty after the second use. Extremely disappointing; will be returning the product for a refund. I don't think I will buy Tefal products again.
Got this deep fryer after looking at what was on the market. So glad we got this one. It is excellent. It is light weight which makes it easy for lifting from the cupboard. It is compact so does not take much storage space. It is easy to use and works quickly. Easy to clean as well. Very happy with the purchase
