Tefal Ultragliss Anti-Calc Plus Steam Iron FV6845

I never thought I would ever say this but “I loved using an iron”. And this Tefal Ultragliss Plus Anti Calc Steam Iron is so great for quick and efficient ironing, especially if you aren’t an ironing fan. The vertical steam and pressure of the iron ensures a really thorough steam iron making the task overall a lot quicker. I found the pressure of the steam meant my garment was able to be ironed in a much shorter timeframe without the same fuss. I also found the iron heated up very quickly. I enjoyed the safety feature of auto-off and the tailored garment steam recommendations. A wonderfully and effective iron with wonderful functions making the chore of ironing an ease. Definitely recommend this brand of iron!

This is an upgrade to our old Tefal iron, they generally last years, so always a good investment. This model feels lighter, even full of water, a good amount of steam for anti crease. The tip is very narrow for precision ironing. The calcium catcher is what caught my eye as our last iron used to spit out chunks if you'd filled it with tap water. Only checked it once out of curiosity, but has stopped any white marks on clothing which is nice.

The iron functions well as an iron, but there are some design issues that drop the score by 2 stars. Firstly, the good: the base is nice and smooth and it glides well; there is plenty of steam and the shot of steam is powerful. Now the bad: the trigger for the shot of steam is inside the handle, exactly where you would grab it to pick it up, so you often find yourself shooting steam randomly when you pick it up; the window to the water level is made of transparent red plastic, but unfortunately it's not transparent enough and it's really difficult to see the water level; the cord is probably 50cm shorter than my previous iron meaning you have to squeeze up tight to the power outlet.
