Bag is wonderful! Water pouch not so much

The backpack itself is great. It is big and spacious and lots of storage space. The only issue I have is the water pouch. The pouch is nice and big, but slightly difficult to open and close with the sliding mechanism. The drinking tube is the biggest issue. The suction is not so great, so it takes awhile to get a good amount of drinking water. It also has no cap which makes it difficult to keep clean if you are out and about. I swapped out the water pouch and drinking tube for a different one that has better suction and a cap on it. Other than the water pouch issue, which is mostly a preference issue, this bag is great!

Great Pack

Perfect for what I wanted. A 2L bladder and room to store a change of clothes. A couple extra pockets for storing small items which is handy. The hip belt is really nice, allows for a snug fit so that this pack can be worn pretty much effortlessly for long periods. Breathable. Bought it to be able to go on long runs and have a change of clothes for after, and it is fit for purpose. Great pack. One potential downside is that the largest pocket is a little too small for most laptops. I was able to put my MacBook Air in the pocket only without a case, which makes me nervous. That may be a consideration. In all other ways, perfect for what I wanted.

I have lots of packs, ranging from slings for fishing to day packs for skiing and multi-day packs for backpacking. But when it came time for a Disney trip with my family, I realized I didn't really have the right sized pack to take. I made a last minute decision to buy this pack. I carried it with me everywhere for a week in hot, humid weather. It was ideal and I'm very glad I had it. And now I use it for my mountain adventures. I honestly have never even tried the bladder- I just use that pocket for gear. Seems well built with smooth zippers and useful pockets. Lightweight and a good design to keep airflow to your back. Great piece of gear at a great price!

Great pockets and pack, not ideal hydration bag
22 October 2023

I bought this bag the day before I left for a week long trip hiking in 4 National Parks in Utah. It was great!! It stayed on my shoulders, didn't slide or scuff up any of the layers I had on like some packs do with tension. I loved all the pockets outside to slide my coat when I took it off and my glasses and chapstick. I wish there was a small chapstick pocket on the straps but I was happy there were no hip pockets as I don't wear the hip straps. Only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is the hydration pack that came with it we couldn't figure out how to not leak. Luckily we tried it before we left and I just put another pouch we had in there. I'd recommend this backpack and just replace the hydration pouch.

Great so far!

It's a convenient size for everything my dog and I need on our hikes. The 2L bladder helps cut down on the bulk of multiple water bottles and when I need to use it to fill a water bowl I can pretty easily do so. There's plenty of room for first aid supplies and snacks and plenty of pockets to keep things separated. The back ventilation isn't the very best, but it isn't bad. The weight distribution makes it a far more comfortable option than an overloaded fannypack with far less carrying capacity. The orange color hopefully makes a point to any hunters but isn't garish. It is easy to access things in the side pockets without taking the whole backpack off, yet it is out of the way of my elbows. I was considering the larger size but I'm glad I went with this one since ... MoreIt's a convenient size for everything my dog and I need on our hikes. My Black Diamond day pack was stolen out of my truck, and I had to replace all my day-hike gear. Because it was a bummer losing many hundreds of dollars of high-end gear...and because I live in an area where there are lots of backpack-loving fentanyl addicts...I decided to replace my gear with more budget-friendly items. My first impression of this pack is nothing but positive.I went to 7000' with all the emergency gear and layers I needed in case I had to spend the night. There was plenty of room. The pack fit just fine. The weight was distributed well between the shoulder harnesses, the hip belt, and the chest belt. Perfect Hawaii pack - get the 22L not 18L

Teton Oasis 22 vs 18 ... get the 22! They are almost the same size, but the 22 is a bit wider and has a more useful storage profile. You can't tell the difference between the packs when wearing them, except at the 22 really does fit more. Also, the 22 comes with a 3 gallon water bladder instead of 2 gallon. Background: I own expensive packs from Osprey, The North Face, Camelback, Gregory, etc.Oasis Teton is the best value price pack I own, for the money. For $60 you have features that are very comparable to $150+ pack, with a very high quality, construction and tremendous thought put into usability and comfort. Add US based awesome customer service = no brainerPROs:- Comfort back & shoulder padding. Allows ventilation, sweat, breathability.- removable rainfly cover included. This means that if you end up in a heavy rainstorm, you can keep your pack completely dry!- Pack is already water resistant- excellent US based customer service. I called to find out. Answer on a few rings, ready to do whatever is needed to maintain your satisfaction.- well thought out compartments- water compartment/laptop compartment- includes 3 gallon water bladder (untested by me)- Quality/reinforced construction - this pack easily withstood wear and tear on wet, muddy adventures with sharp rocks. In comparison, no namebrand Costco backpacks have torn under similar circumstances, but the material of this pack was significantly better. No tears and any dirt wiped up very easily.- good looking colors- could replace water bladder with a 13.3" or 14" laptop (but not room for both)- waist straps can tuck up into the side elastic pouches, if desiredCONS:- A trade-off in waist/belt comfort (compared to market leader Osprey)- A very small trade-off in quality (compared to market leader Osprey) - debatable if there is much difference- I did not test the water bladder, which will be a significant variable for many peopleI used this pack for a weeklong vacation in Hawaii. I brought it the following:- clipboard with maps, park entrance passes, etc- rain jacket- flip flops- change of shorts and shirt- bug spray & sunblock- sun hat- journal + book + Bible + highlights- Mavic Mini- selfie stick/tripod- A little bit of room to spare for specifics needed for each adventure (hiking in the mountains, beaches, snorkeling)Bottom line:- it's hard to find a better pack for the price. For most people, this is a very high-quality pack that will provide minimal sweat, comfort, plenty of storage, and look good.- For outdoor obsessed people, consider an upgrade to Osprey or Gregory for better waist weight bearing straps.- I love this pack and I continue to use it for mountain biking, day hikes, and even some study sessions at work w/my laptop

Shoulder Straps = Cheese Graters
9 July 2023

I purchased the Oasis 22L based on bladder size, reviews and price point, and in the end you get what you pay for. The pack is laid out well and provides several storage options. The bladder functions well and I never went thirsty on my 6 mile inaugural hike. This was a gear-check event in preparation for a day hike up Mt. Washington. As it turns out, the shoulder straps turned out to perform like cheese graters. I've hiked many times with a pack, but this one was memorable. By the end of the hike the top of my shoulders and clavical were beat up pretty well. I guess I took shoulder straps for granted, but this will need a modification since there's no customer satisfaction policy at Teton Sports to return it for a refund. Buyer beware. I ordered the red from Amazon and wish I would have ordered here to save $! The red color will be nice for my kids to spot me as we are hiking. The bottle holders on the outside aren't super deep, but they would be enough to hold my little kids' 12 oz bottles, probably more. I haven't tasted water from the bladder yet, but I'm looking forward to using this. It's lightweight and feels less bulky than my North Face pack and at a fraction of the cost. I like all the extra places to clip anything should I want to. The pack also looks nice enough that I could bring this with me and it wouldn't be embarrassingly ugly. I'm glad to have something not black for a change. The raincover was a surprising bonus. With the drain hole, I could also see myself bringing this tubing. ... MoreI ordered the red from Amazon and wish I would have ordered here to save $! I think it was a good multipurpose purchase. And thrifty at fifty bucks (and cheaper here when on sale). I did submit this review to get a gift card, but I haven't found any reason to not like the backpack yet. I will update if my thoughts change with use. myoasis10

Christmas 2021, I bought both my kids this backpack as a daypack for their BSA adventures. They have loved the size and durability. The built in rain cover has been awesome. They even took their packs to Disney this past summer. Perfect size for water bottle, raincoat, snacks and souvenirs without getting to heavy or cumbersome. The rain fly was perfect on the water rides. Both kids took them to camp and love how they can keep their gear organized. When my daypack started falling apart and I needed to replace it, Teton was the only brand that had the features and quality that I wanted for a reasonable price. My family got me one for Christmas! I cannot wait to put it to use.myoasis10
