First, the smell seems more potent than the oil's, or has more staying power.The product itself is a little clumpy at first but as you warm it before spreading it turns into a soft liquid butter. Gives shine, hold and control. Works perfect with a little bit of oil first. An overall great product, as always, that I definitely recommend, for semi long to long beards.All the best from Quebec, Bertrand.

I have been searching for a scent that would compare to my favorite oil/balm that was discontinued by another company I order from. I decided to try Woodsman and it is VERY close to what I was looking for. I really like this scent. I recommend. I prefer a stronger scent, but I am not dinging it as that's my own personal preference.

I have been trying out about a dozen beard oil/balm suppliers over the last 6 years and I keep coming back to BB. Consistently supperior quality oil and amazing fragrance that always is in my wheelhouse. Just got fire balm and the smoky smell is just what I love about campfire smell. Also got man of the woods and it's a deep and complex Woody scent. I am at the point where I no longer feel it necessary to try any other oil/balm besides BB. BEST PRODUCTS AND SCENT OUT THERE!

If you want to smell like a true outdoors American than the woodsman is just for you! The smell of cedar and wood reminds you of living the American dream. It's not overwhelming but can be smelled throughout the room. I lather up once in the morning after a hot shower and the balm scent sticks around for a solid 3-4 hours. Around lunchtime I use the woodsman beard oil and the beard is back to living the high life!
After buying my first batch of Woodsman Beard Balm, I replenished my supply recently with two more tins of same. I also bought a tin of Simply Vanilla 'stash wax as the Woodsman 'stash wax I find too hard for my tastes (and it seems I just cannot get it softened up enough to apply without pulling out 'stash hairs. :-( However, the Simply Vanilla seems to have a slightly lighter hold and a little less stiffness/hardness which is ideal and I love the aroma as does my wife. I find I use the oil only rarely as I have a crinkly beard and it does require some hold which the beard balm has, albeit I'd like just a wee bit more hold in it. But I really like the stuff. I'm a believer. (my beard is currently 9 months long).
Great scent that is not overwhelming and does not linger till next shower. Refreshing. Pleasant scent. Softens. Great control. Just the right sheen.
The first bearded bastard product I tried was the woodsman beard oil. It smelled incredible, kept my fly-aways in check, added a bit of luster and shine, as well as soothed my skin, which cut down on itchiness. I recently bought the balm variety in the same woodsman scent, and I'm even more pleased. It does all the things the beard oil did, with the added benefit (I feel) that it's more managable. It's easier to control how much product goes in your beard. Woodsman beard balm gets 5 stars from me.
I’ve never used a beard balm before only beard oil. But this year decided to grow it longer and was getting a lot of strays. So researched every beard balm company on the web and decided to go with tbb. Great decision. I love the woodsman. Also have the barbershop. Hands down woodsman is the best scent ever. It’s like a sawmill making 2x4s on ur face and have a great hold and shine. Will be purchasing more products in the near future. Keep up the great work!
This was the first balm I bought from TBB. It came on the heels of the Woodsman beard oil. So it will always have a special place in my heart.The scent? Like the woods, duh! It’s woodsy, peaty, mossy to me. But that may be because here in New England our woods smell that way. I almost associate it with a bit of dampness, but I know that word has a negative connotation. So, pretend I never wrote it.This is what I’d expect my beard to smell like if I went out into my family’s woods and rubbed my face in the ground in the spring, as the snow has melted and everything is peaty and mossy.
I've bought this product twice and haven't been disappointed by it nor the service. I use this in combination with the Woodsman Beard Oil. I live in a desert environment, which tends to dry out my beard and skin. Applying this keeps my beard going to crap and my skin getting dry. I also find it useful as a pomade for my hair. This is the beard balm I judge all others by. The scent isn't overwhelming and dissipates quickly. I generally apply it twice a day.The service is impeccable and consistent. My orders have arrived promptly. All these are good indications that this business cares about what it does.
