This product works so well to interrupt incessant barking at things that aren’t a threat. The sound startles them enough to stop. Neither dog is fearful of the tool. I’ve gone through a few cans, but we are to the point now that I can hiss and that works well, too.The product even breaks their groove when they howl at sirens. We reside near a firehouse and a short way from a trauma center so sirens are an issue. My ears are enjoying the reprieve.

I have to pet corrector throughout my house. Large spray cans and small ones. My 1 1/2 year old chocolate lab immediately stops her bad behavior (chasing the cat, paws on kitchen counter, aggressive toy/food behavior) the minute she see's me grab the can now. I then reward her good behavior with praise and petting. I keep an Small can with me when we walk to stop other dogs bad behavior on us. It stops them immediately as most have never heard the 'pssssst' sound like this before. It's pretty loud. Louder than say, an air duster can. I recommend this to help correct unwanted behavior to my friend owner's.

This Corrector Spray is merely a loud aerosol sound that mimics natural “hissing.” Dogs hate it though. My dogs just see the red bottle and stop barking, won’t jump on anyone at the door and not sit on company uninvited. I can even set a plate of food on the floor and they won’t touch it. It’s humane and effective. Buy it anywhere and you’ll see. My dogs always obey me now and I never spank. They don’t run away or act unruly.

I would never use shock collars and did not want a noise maker that I couldn’t hear myself. I only had to use this product approximately 4 times and my poodle mix and chihuahua mix barely bark anymore. If they do start to bark I just pick up the can and they immediately stop. (Even when someone rings the door bell.) I don’t even have to spray it. The first time I sprayed it my chihuahua mix got scared of the air noise but hasn’t been scared since. (I let both dogs see and smell the can itself.) They aren’t afraid of the can, they just don’t like the air sound.

My dog is 2 years old and has barked at anything and everyone, and even the wind and the rain, and shadows. It has been a very stressful situation in the household. I've used this for years and it's effective. Unfortunately, the company has changed the top where you press it to create the hissing noise. I can not get it to press down without using two hands and all my strength. It's not at all practical or useful for quickly grabbing to deter a behavior. To check if I had a defective one, I ordered another which was the same story. Unusable (unless you have a particularly strong hand, maybe). I will look for another brand.
