If, like me, you've spent hundreds or thousands of hours exploring, questing and decorating houses in Skyrim and still want to do more but want to freshen it up, this is a purchase you can consider, particularly if it's on sale at a good price here on Fanatical.Caveat: There are plenty of good free mods that give weapons, armor, mounts, quests, homes and more, Skyrim is well-known for the active modding community. So buying this can be unappealing (and this perceived reduction in value is one of the reasons I docked one star, the other being the lack of voice acting that breaks immersion at certain points). However, in isolation, there is a good amount of content in this upgrade. And if Bethesda actually released this stuff as DLC, it'd probably cost a lot more. ... MoreIf, like me, you've spent hundreds or thousands of hours exploring, questing and decorating houses in Skyrim and still want to do more but want to freshen it up, this is a purchase you can consider, particularly if it's on sale at a good price here on Fanatical.Caveat: There are plenty of good free mods that give weapons, armor, mounts, quests, homes and more, Skyrim is well-known for the active modding community. I brought this mostly because I thought it would resolve some mod and patch conflicts, (which it didn't - I actually needed a different version of the Skyrim script extender).I was happy to pay in good faith due to the enjoyment I have had from the base game all these years, and at £7 or so I'm not going to lose sleep over this. But for the life of me I have yet to notice any noticable differences in game apart maybe from some stability improvements. If it wasn't for the description on site and others, I would have no idea what content is actually added.I can't really recommend on the basis of adding to your gameplay experience, but at the price I just see it as a good way to further support the publisher (or whoever the money goes to).

I bought this Anniversary Edition to replace my Legendary Edition (2016, no CC). It has been a vast improvement over the older editions. Fighting feels more fluid, the graphics have greatly improved (no matter how high I mountain-goat into the mountain tops where the older editions would start breaking down into simple geometric shapes), and I swear that everyone has a few more voice lines. The free addition of everything from Creation Club (which my older edition couldn't access) has been almost overwhelming. Feels like a completely different game. So, if you're thinking that you already played it, on an older edition, I would strongly recommend that you update to the Anniversary Edition.

This isn’t much of an upgrade if you have Special Edition, but worthwhile if your only copies are on Switch, PS3, 360, or vanilla on PC with mods.TES titles are something I find enjoyable, even though Skyrim might be my least favorite because of some streamlined mechanics, it’s still an Elder Scrolls game and full of things to do and places to explore.Performance is what you would expect from a game as old as it is. It doesn’t take a beast to run, so higher resolutions and settings are possible with a mid level setup. Playing on something powerful makes it a dream to play.If you know what Skyrim is, this review might not be the best critique to take into consideration, but, it’s one of the best RPGs ever.
Skyrim - Is there anything more that can be said about this game?Apparently, there is.Is the Anniversary edition upgrade worth the buy in price? I'd say it depends. If it's been a few years since you've done a run through the game, then there's a lot of content here; but it's not all packaged so it's easy to find.More often than not, you'll get a courier bung you a letter, and once read, a new quest pops up. Some of the content is, basiclly go here, kill this, return/profit; but there is some well written and well done content that goes beyond that. I've not gotten to it all yet, but what I have found has been good, some of it surprising and so well done, I genuinely thought it was original game content I missed.Just to disclose, I bought this during the ... MoreSkyrim - Is there anything more that can be said about this game?Apparently, there is.Is the Anniversary edition upgrade worth the buy in price? timeless RPG classic. the open world is vast and full of adventure, and the mod support is excellent. the graphics have been improved, making it even more beautiful. however, it’s still buggy, and the combat can feel clunky. also, some mechanics are outdated. but it’s a must-play for RPG fans.
I have not played this game since I owned the boxed original back in the day, however this time I bought the latest version the Anniversary Edition and I did enjoy it, lot of massive spaces to explore, location and MANY MANY HOURS of play etc So you really get your money worth out of this game for sure. However I felt it lacked a decent story, ES IV was MUCH better in this regard. Now do not get me wrong I enjoyed it, but I found the game overall VERY easy, I found one weapon, the Nord Honed Hammer, hit level 29 with 93 double handed skill and every BIG baddie was 2 - 3 hits before they were dead, most however were 1 hit, with the exception of the dragons which took 6+ Hard swings to take down, and of course the bosses end boss in Dragon Slayer and the Vampire ... MoreI have not played this game since I owned the boxed original back in the day, however this time I bought the latest version the Anniversary Edition and I did enjoy it, lot of massive spaces to explore, location and MANY MANY HOURS of play etc So you really get your money worth out of this game for sure. I NEVER upgraded anything other than that, maybe speech a couple times. I NEVER EVER Spent money on weapons or armour, as I always found the weapon of choice for the majority of the game very early on including the Full Blade Armour with swapping out the gloves, boots and helmet twice, so even the gold / money system was silly, OH I bought a house and adopted a kid, other than that I never spent a coin on anything other than potions. Unlike the Fall Out series where you NEED to upgrade many aspects of your characters to get to hidden levels, quests etc, I found Skyrim just kinda handed it all to you on a silver platter. ES IV Oblivion is a much better game although not as pretty. Did I enjoy it? Hell yea, was ES IV and Morrowind better? Absolutely. After the main storyline and the vampire story line (Again I enjoyed that story line more than the main story line), I just found myself going through the motion of finishing side quests and not caring and lost interest. I put in 40 hours into the game so yea big bang for your buck for sure. It will be a very long time before I play this again. But those that have not played it for ages, it is worth a revisit. Just my two cents.
Honestly, this game has been one of my favorite games to ever play. Sure it has glitches; it was made in 2011. However, those glitches are what make Syrim, Skyrim. Whether it's the fortify restoration loop or invisible chests, they make this game. Not only does it perfectly combine RPG with everything else, but it succeeds at something many games haven't, and that is never running out of things to do. Even if you 100% the game completely, you can just restart, and get back on that carriage. I have lost countless hours playing this game and honestly, it's worth it. Some of the questlines are less than enjoyable, but many other aspects of Skyrim make up for it.
It contains every dlc available for Skyrim. Skyrim is one of the best games ever, and having everything there is to have is just a big plus. Not only that, but owning the case and disc that have "Anniversary Edition" is so much better than buying the code, because it makes you feel good that you're honoring such a legendary piece of work.
Timeless classic. You know how everyone has a comfort show, or game or whatever. Well. Skyrim will always be mine. Sure, this game is basically the GTA 5 of single-player RPGs with as many re-releases and updates it has gotten, but it's nice to see this game is still alive. The slight update they did with the SE/AE editions is notably better and far more optimized than the Oldrim (Old Skyrim). Some bugs are just limitations of the old engine, but the few things that did get patched up are appreciated.
