I have ordered this journal from the USA because I wanted to bring some positivity in my life in these weird times. I know I can focus on positive things myself, but some hint and routine to do that is working better. What I like about this journal is that you don’t have to sit for an hour and think. It’s literally taking 5 minutes of your time - preferably divided for the morning and for the evening. You write what you are grateful for and what will make this coming day great. Then in the evening you can share what did make this day good and what you learnt today. I always have hard times of thinking what was my lesson of the day… I do not know for sure if I became more positive after I started writing this journal. Hopefully yes. If I were to tell someone that journaling changed the trajectory of my life years ago, I would not have believed myself. Journaling felt unimportant to me in the past, trivial. Once I began, my whole paradigm shifted. This journal rearranges my thoughts and words in a way that positively and intentionally changes how I think, what I do, and ensures that my authentic values, passions and priorities align with how I choose to spend each 24 hours of a day. When you can label and make clear and tangible what matters to you the most, the rest falls into place. If anyone is purchasing this, I would suggest reading each daily quote and completing the weekly challenges. They are valuable, too! I've purchased 3 of these journals now. I've created family traditions from this journal, made myself feel more whole and purposeful with this journal, and improved my mental health. One of my favorite challenges is to send a solo or lonely family member or friend a meal or delivery item. I sent an older and lone cousin his favorite pie and now I make it an annual thing and it brightens his day immensely. That is just one example of the way this can touch more lives than your own.

I have an extremely busy life but 5 minutes at the beginning and end of the day is both manageable and essential to ground my mind and body. The quote on top of one of the pages, ‘Every day may not be good but there is something good in every day’ is so true! Going strong with 5MJ for 3 years!
16 July 2020

This journal is a game changer. I adopted use of it over 3 years ago after reading about it on someone's blog. For many years prior, I made many attempts to establish a gratitude habit but none of them lasted for the long haul. Using this journal daily (well, almost daily) has cemented my habit and I have watched my life change for the better right before my eyes. Now, the first thing I think of when I wake in the morning is my gratitudes, scrolling through them to decide which three to list in my journal.Writing my affirmations and intentions for the day are also a monumental part of the power of this tool which literally only takes 5 minutes each day. That's a very small snippet of time/energy that has a huge return on investment.I am a deeply spiritual person ... MoreThis journal is a game changer. That's a very small snippet of time/energy that has a huge return on investment.I am a deeply spiritual person and have always been. The 5 Minute Journal is a valuable tool for my daily spiritual tuning.A few months ago I learned about Hal Elrod and his "Miracle Morning". I was delighted to realize that the 5 Minute Journal covers 3 of the 6 components of Elrod's acronym SAVERS. Affirmations, Reading, and Scribing. Granted, I may only be reading a few lines with the inspirational quote at the top of the page (but I often google the quote and end up reading more). And I am only writing a little bit, but I am still writing. So for the days when I only have 6 minutes for the SAVERS, the 5 Minute Journal is the way I cover 3 of them. The other 3 I cover with my morning yoga and meditation practice.I've shared the 5MJ with more than ten people, all of whom bought one and use it.If you want to cultivate an attitude of gratitude and watch your life improve, then this is a very useful tool!

Great Idea - Lousy Paper
1 December 2021

The overall format of the page layout is great. The size of the journal is perfect and I really like the green hardcover.Unfortunately the paper quality is a step above a cheap throwaway paperback novel. As someone who journals I’ve also found having a quality pen important and use a fountain pen.The ink, a quality Sailor black ink, bleeds right through the page making the other side useless so instead of over 200 daily pages I’m left with just over 100.The Intelligent Change would be to use something like a 100 gsm paper. It might cost a bit more to produce but honestly I buy journals with 100 gsm paper for about $10 so maybe the production cost would increase a few pennies but the end price doesn’t need to go up.After I finish filling out half the pages ... MoreThe overall format of the page layout is great. Heck, a simple 2 page pamphlet could be condensed with all that info.

Great Journal But Pages Falling Out (Again)
31 July 2023

I love The Five Minute Journal, but for the price, the pages shouldn't fall out. This is the second journal I've used from Intelligent Change and I actually received this one for free because the first one fell apart. I appreciate them giving me a free journal to make up for that, but now, I'm unwilling to spend a cent on my next journal because I don't want to have a third journal with pages falling out! It sucks for people to be spending money on these journals only for them to fall apart over and over again.Other than this issue, it's really been wonderful using it over the last few months. Love everything, except the quality
30 January 2023

I love the idea of this journal. The daily prompts help me to find the positive in each day and have truly helped shift my perspective. Unfortunately, the quality of the journal itself is incredibly disappointing. I open it for 10-15 minutes each day, and am fairly gentle with it, yet all of the pages are falling out. It’s like there was no glue binding the pages to the spine and every movement causes more to fall loose. While I’m still writing in the journal because I enjoy the prompts, it’s getting to the point where it is more frustrating dealing with all the loose pages than worth it. For the cost of the journal, I would expect a much higher quality product.

I got this journal as a Christmas present from my mom. I didn’t know if I was going to have the motivation to write in it every day so I forgot about it. One day I opened it up again and read through some of the pages and got super interested! I realized that the point of the journal is about being gentle with yourself and recognizing your thoughts. It has really helped me change my mindset and perspective. Some people don’t like the idea of always trying to be positive and happy. If you read all of this, I hope by now I was able to help someone purchase because I really think if everyone used this the world would be a happier and more self-aware place. <3

Most interesting purchase of the year so far
3 March 2024

I have bought the 5 minute journal as part of my new years resolution and I am using it for over 2 months already. I really liked all the descriptions of the scientific research this journal was based on. Once I complete my current journal, I plan to re-read that part.As I had sleeping issues throughout last year, I heard that journalling might help to reduce anxiety and thus help one sleep better. As I look through my sleep diary now, I can see that the journal helped a little. And I am happy about it. A nice feature is to think of things one can be grateful for! There are so many great things in this world, and if I don't stop for a second and think of them, I feel like I tend to forget about them.

Wasn't expecting this!
6 February 2024

I'm a serial buyer and abandoner of planners, every year. They are exciting for about a week and then they fall out of sync with my google calendar and are deemed useless. This was so different! It's like having a task manager standing over my shoulder making me accomplish things. I crossed things off my to do list that have sat there for months because of this system. I'm so thrilled with it. Having a daily priority list, projected times, and gratitude reminders are everything!
