Amazing game, among the best on 3DS.

Amazing game! People of all ages will love it! One of Nintendo's best! Play as Link as you roam around the open world of Hyrule, on a mission given to you by the Great Deku Tree! I played the original N64 game on Wii Virtual Console a while ago, and it's the same great game, with several improvements, such as better graphics, clearer sound, touch screen controls and 3D capabilities. Get it now, if you don't have it you're doing yourself a disservice. Among games like Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7 as the best games for the Nintendo 3DS.

Beautiful game, beautiful quality, incredibly reminiscent-worthy!

This is such a beautiful game, I grew up with the N64 version and this version is simply amazing. Same game, just enhanced graphics and you can take it around with you! I was a bit worried about buying this in case it didn't live up to the standards of the original N64 version, however I am now incredibly happy that I did buy it. I couldn't commend it enough.

Beautiful update of a true classic

What a stunningly beautiful job Nintendo has done here! I remember playing the original Oot years ago and feeling awestruck by how wonderful it was. The graphics, music, gameplay; everything was executed to perfection. Now I feel that same wonder all over again in 3D and cannot help but love this rendition of the legendary classic. A must if you are a fan of the series or want to experience a true masterpiece in gaming.

Comeback of a Classic
22 June 2011

I've been playing the game for the past couple of hours and I just can't put it down. The updated graphics may not be pushing the system but stays true to the N64 look but also giving a fresh next gen feel. Im glad the game is now running at a smooth 30fps.The 3D effects really add to the world of the game, making things look like they have added depth, and the particle effects in Koriki Forest are a nice added touch.Inventory system is well organized, and a lot more accessible. The gyro aiming works superbly and feels like more natural. Can't wait to get further into the game. All in all I think Nintendo and Grezzo have done a great job of putting together a nice updated version of the game, its refined, looks and sounds great. This is the way Ocarina of Time ... MoreI've been playing the game for the past couple of hours and I just can't put it down. Great update of a classic.

This game is a fitting re-release of one of the top games of all time. The game play and feel of the game stay true to the original while GREZZO have really improved the graphics, resulting in a version that shows off what the original development team wanted to create. The new graphics add extra details, like posters on buildings and more convincing interiors, that make the game that much better. The 3DS does a great job of the 3D aspect - the over world shines and the 3D really comes into effect inside dungeons, with an impressive depth of field. The motion sensor aiming option is a nice touch, although you'll need to be able to move and flex around for it to work best (not so great on car trips / flights). The handiest 3DS feature is the helpful inventory system ... MoreThis game is a fitting re-release of one of the top games of all time. Just amazing.
7 May 2015

I played this 15 years ago on Nintendo 64, and it is my favourite TLoZ game. I was really impressed by the changes that had been made with the port to 3DS. The graphics have been significantly improved, and some tedious parts have been removed (That talking owl no longer talks to you for a year each time.)Fantastic game for beginners to the Zelda franchise or veteran gamers alike.

Just the same as on the 64
4 August 2016

I bought this game because I played it on the 64 when I was a kid and loved it.The story is flexible so a lot of the storyline can be done in any order without being sent down the same path everytime.Lots of things to collect and do in the land of Hyrule that really just waste time but are fun to do anyway such as fishing and catching ghosts. The game can be challenging (I had to look on the internet for help a few times after getting lost in a temple) but nothing in it is impossible. As far as the 3D, the quality was really good but I generally played it in 2D as I got eye strain the same as I do in 3D movies. I found the less light around the easier it was to play in 3D.

OoT is still the the benchmark for all RPG's
30 August 2017

Ocarina of Time is a classic game for both the depth of the story and the gameplay. It is still the benchmark by which I measure all other RPG games. The 3DS version adds in the 3D functionality which works really well with the original game and the addition of the Masterquest will provide those that have finished the original version many times over, a new challenge.

Perfect Tribute to a classic
2 August 2011

I played the original on the N64 years ago, loved it. This remake is near perfect. It's evident that the graphics could have been improved to make full use of the 3DS's graphics capabilities, but I don't think that would be true to the original art style of the game. The graphics look amazing as they are. The touchscreen design works fairly well, except for having to tap the screen to access some menus/options which you can't access via buttons (because of the lack of buttons of the 3DS compared to the N64 controller). The gyroscope makes aiming tools a breeze.Other than that, it all works. It's a full adventure game; sidequests, secrets, you name it. This will keep you occupied for a while, especially if you're new to the game. Plus, it has the bonus Master Quest ... MoreI played the original on the N64 years ago, loved it. This will keep you occupied for a while, especially if you're new to the game. Plus, it has the bonus Master Quest version after you beat it, which basically is an updated version with modified (harder) dungeon layouts, maps and settings, so essentially, it's an entirely new experience. This is a solid game, and should be in every 3DS owners' collection. A remake of Ocarina of Time, regarded by many as the best game ever made, was always going to do well. Ocarina of Time 3D is no exception.

Zelda In Top Form
13 July 2011

This is only my third visit to Hyrule (Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, and now Ocarina), and I have no N64 memories to reference back to. That aside, it's clear this outing with Link is head and shoulders over Twilight Princess. The graphics clearly aren't pushing the 3DS as far as it can go, but they are still excellent, and the 3D touches in the fairies, forests and boss fights are astonishing. Link handles extremely well, and the touch-screen inventory and map system is a breeze. Add in the 3DS' inbuilt "note" ability to write reminders for yourself and you have what must be one of the most playable Zeldas ever.Remake this may be, but it stands just fine as a game in its own right and remains one game every 3DS owner should have in their collection.
