Macallan Gold was released in late 2012 as part of a series of colour-themed bottlings introduced to replace the distillery's age-statement expressions. Part of the 1824 Series of non-age statement whiskies from The Macallan, Gold proved a popular expression before the series was discontinued in 2018. Its enduring popularity made it the only expression to graduate to the new Double Cask range, launched in 2018. This edition was produced as a limited edition run with special packaging, released for the Christmas season. Please note - Some damage to the box and sleeve, see photos.

A little on the spendy side if you don’t have the budget for it but as soon as you taste it you will see the undeniable quality. The perfect sipping whiskey. Hubby adores this whiskey and always unleashes his inner James Bond when we get it. Best enjoyed when your wanting luxury and endulgence!

A pale shadow of the 12 year old and priced similarly to much better whiskies like Aberlour 12 yo (or the 10 yo), Highland Park 12 yo or GlenDronach 12yo. Trading on the name while blatantly profiteering with the pricing of the 12yo at double the price.

I first tried "The Macallan" at a whisky distillery in the Cairngorms. I got to try several very distinctive whiskeys and the single most memorable one was "The Macallan" which I enjoyed very much and it became my favorite. Over the many years since then I have drunk the occasional bottle but not recently as the price was too high. However, following a recent offer, I reacquainted myself with this old favorite only to be disappointed. Although it was definitely quite drinkable, there was nothing memorable about it at all. It is possible that this is no longer "The" Macallan and just one of many varieties now and I have sampled a different, blander version but I doubt I will try it again.

I called 3 times to find out what was taking so long. There were few bottles left and one person took responsibility and found the bottle and shipped it. I really appreciated his personal responsibility.
These will be drunk by friends and family on Xmas day and will be enjoyed greatfuly as I like to treat people on special occasions! And thanks for letting me purchase these from yourself.
I have enjoyed every Macallan whisky that I have ever tasted besides this one. Certainly does not taste like Macallan whiskey!! I honestly can't think of a beginner or experienced whisky drinker who would actually enjoy this dram !!
A prime example of how the Macallan Non Age Statement whiskies pale by comparison to their aged counterparts. Spend the extra 20 quid for a bottle of the 12 year old Fine Oak which is in a totally different league; your taste buds will thank you.
Macallan Gold is mellow and smooth and is a great option for a novice. It’s also a good choice for those who prefer scotch on the lighter side.
A coworker's husband recommend Macallan to me. I had never tried anything by them, I am so glad that this was my 1st experience. Loved the sweetness of this scotch and it is unbelievably smooth. I will be trying other scotches from Macallan based on this experience
