The North Face 1996 Retro Nuptse Jacket Black, M

I bought this jacket for a casual winter coat/fashion piece. After watching some videos on Youtube, I opted to go with a Medium. I'm 6'1, 195lbs, 31x32" pants, muscular chest/back but slimmer in the arms and legs, and typically wear large tops and bottoms. The medium looks great on me. It has a nice retro cropped fit at the stomach, and it's not overly baggy on the sides. The hidden hood was also a nice surprise. Cinch cords on the hood and waist too. It's very warm and feels to be a high quality jacket, and I'm very happy with the styling. If I was buying this for a dedicated winter jacket, I'd probably buy the large though. I can very tightly fit a Nike sweatshirt and t-shirt under this and fully zip it if necessary, but anything more than that and it's too ... MoreI bought this jacket for a casual winter coat/fashion piece. If I was buying this for a dedicated winter jacket, I'd probably buy the large though. I can very tightly fit a Nike sweatshirt and t-shirt under this and fully zip it if necessary, but anything more than that and it's too small. The sleeves are just long enough, but if I raise or extend my arms above my head, then my wrists and stomach are exposed due to the purposeful retro sizing. However, I bought this for a casual cold weather jacket that I will usually rock unzipped for short periods of time outside so I am happy with my purchase, but it goes great as a layering piece too. It fits perfectly under my trusty 10 year old hooded Denali jacket (size XL)

I am 5'6" or 5'7" and 125lbs. I have multiple North Face jackets. I am a North Face small. At first, the Nuptse jacket seemed like the perfect jacket. Small was the correct size as are all my other jackets. The arm length was correct. The width was just enough to allow to me layer on something else. If I had a medium, I would be swimming in my jacket. The jacket was lightweight, warm, had a packable hood, and I could pack the whole jacket into the pocket. Then, I raised my arm. My arm was only raised to shoulder height and the jacket pulled up above my waist. Am I never supposed to move my arms? I can never shovel snow. Every time I move my arms, I will have 20 degree F wind blowing on my stomach. If I raise my arms all the way up, the jacket exposes my stomach even ... MoreI am 5'6" or 5'7" and 125lbs. The jacket in neutral position just barely covers my waist. This seems like a major design flaw. I tried on my other North Face jackets and other brand jackets and this is not a problem. I was aware that the Nuptse was "short" because I saw reviews on the internet, but this is a joke.I am shocked that this jacket has such high reviews with such a massive design flaw.If there were another version of the Nuptse that were longer (or just normal sized like every other North Face jacket), I would buy the jacket again.

This does not have the original hood which made the jacket it also does not have the original poof 💨. I have the original 96 last of the yellow. NF should come back with a lot of the originals and make them exactly the way they were made and stop cutting corners. I have all originals and so far every retro made does not compare if anything made like garbage. We customers should stop buying the items that are made with non quality and just get the stuff that is quality.... Bet you will see the change immediately. $ makes things change especially when they are not getting the return for the garbage being made. Like this retro.
