My son loves the colours and look of this jacket and has already worn it when rainy. This from a kid refusing to wear a jacket as of late. I like the small but well placed reflective detail & that it’s not fully black for visibility on dark days. Sizing chart online did not match sizing equivalence on tag and I had to return & order bigger (which Altitude made easy). Overall win!

Great quality jacket, we buy them every year.Just watch out North Face recently changed their youth sizing, they fit smaller than prior years. E.g. a medium was 10-12 and is now just 10. Large is now 12. XL is now 14/16.It's true to label but not consistent with prior models.

Previous TNF rain jackets I’ve purchased have been a different style, with adjustable cuffs. My son likes these cuffs better, but the sleeves fit a little on the short side. Still keeping this jacket because it fits perfectly otherwise.

This is the third TNF rain jacket that I've ordered for my son. The quality is super and it's quite waterproof. The outside will eventually get wet but nothing penetrates the inside. He’s currently wearing a medium, which says 10-12. TNF changed the wording on their sizing this year. The Large just says 12. I assumed that since he is currently wearing a medium and it’s 10-12 that a large would be 12-14. It was delivered, and it’s not. The large is the same size as last year’s medium. I sent it back to get the next size up.So, be careful ordering. My son is 9 (and a bit small for his age) and the large fits him now - even though it says it's for a 12 year old.
My son loves this coat. It's lightweight and rolls up nicely into his backpack when not needed. He likes that it's not thick and hot like other raincoats he's had in the past.There's a spot inside the coat where you can write their name or put a name label...for those times when they inevitably leave their coat laying around!
This jacket has already weathered a few storms. The product fit the description and shed water successfully. It fits great and allows our son to move freely. Happy with the purchase.
I bought the size medium for my tall 8-year-old son and it fits great. The layers, hood and coverage make me confident it will keep in dry for Norcal rainy season and the colorblocking looks nice. Be warned there is a massive logo on the sleeve but I think he kind of likes that.
Our family went on a rain hike and our son wore this jacket. It is not waterproof. Compared to the rest of the family who remained dry wearing different rain jacket brands and after a 60mm downpour, this jacket performed the worst. It is water resistant for city folks, not for the outdoors in a forest during rain. Our son's other gear performed well (rain pants, shoes etc). I would not recommend this jacket for outdoor field exploration unless it is a drizzle or exceptionally light rainfall.
Bought this coat for my 11 yr old son. Excellent quality, as you'd expect from this brand, and great protection from the elements! Moreover, it looks ruddy great on and my son actually wants to wear it!
I bought this for my Son for a school residential. I had bought another brand fir him to try also but this one was far better. I fits nicely and doesn’t look boxy. My Son likes it more for the logo but as a mum, it’s the practicality and quality that won it for me. Admittedly, I didn’t really want to be paying over £40 for a rain jacket but I know my Son will wear it.
