I bought this bag to use on a weeklong bicycle trip I will be participating in this summer. I wanted something that I would be able to pack gear and basic needs for a week of riding and camping-- including tent, air mattress and sleeping bag. I am excited that the bag has shoulder straps for easy carrying from one location to another. The durability of the bag was also important in that it will be sitting outdoors in sunshine or rain waiting for me retrieve every day! I have packed it with what I think I will need for the trip and everything fits perfect!!

These bags have been around for a VERY long time so they are tried tested and true. These are NOT luxury bags, they are much more utilitarian and concentrate on function over features. The material is thick and holds the shape of the bag making it easier to pack, drawback is that it does make the bag heavier. Straps and grab handles are sturdy shoulder straps are wide. I have an XL, L and a S - I use the small for my daily bagging to the gym / work etc. Had Ian XS but it was honestly way to small. I have travelled with these bags in the past checking it in when flying and they always come out unmarked or minor scuffs which I don't care about - this bag is meant to be used and it will get scratched and scuffed over the many many years I plan on owning them. This is such a versatile bag. It's my go to bag for urban and car camping type outdoor adventures. The capacity is perfect for a weeklong trip with room to spare. The number of pockets is just right. Two pockets inside and one on the outside. With how large the duffel is, I really appreciate the big exterior pocket. I pair this duffel bag with packing cubes to keep things organized in the main compartment. Only improvements I would ask for is a quicker way to disconnect, reconnect, and stow the backpack straps and a little more padding on the backpack straps. Other than that I love this duffle!
I got this for my son who is a sophomore in college. All of a sudden I realized that he was using those blue nylon, indestructible moving bags to transport himself to and fromschool and really he needed a smart-looking, large capacity, heavy duty duffle and this is it! He picked yellow and it's great. Bright, roomy, and strong. He's excited to take it back to school and it will last him a long, long time. I am going to get one as a graduation gift for my other son who will be going to college next year.
I purchased this product in 2018 for a heli-ski trip. Needed a waterproof duffel for transport to the lodge. This did not disappoint. It's roomy and super durable, great zippers. One side pocket. Folds up into its own storage bag to minimize space. No dividers inside, so purchase packing cubes if that's an issue for you. This most recent purchase is for my multi-day music festival staffing manager daughter who needs a bag that will withstand dust, rain, bugs.
I have 17 of these bags in different sizes and colors. Absolutely the best bag out there. I usually use 2 smalls when I fly. One carry-on and one personal item, and that gets me anywhere I want to go without checking bags. If I do check a bigger bag, they are the easiest thing to spot on the luggage carousel. They will last forever. They look good. Easy to get stuff in and out of. I use them for everything. I only have 2 wishes. When NF makes a bag in a color, I wish they would make that color in all sizes. I like to have a set. And, I wish they would make one that is completely waterproof. These bags can sit out in the rain and still keep your stuff dry, but I still like a fully waterproof bag. The good: the material, straps, and zippers are solid and durable. I like the adjustability of the straps, and non-excessive compartment/pockets. I bought this hoping that it could withstand light to moderate rain in the back of a pickup truck. It does ok with water on the too- the zippers have decent coverage from flaps. But the stitching on the bottom isn't sealed. It's not as though it was in standing water, narrow troughs of a pickup bed liner had water, but not above the ridges, but everything in the bottom of the duffel got wet. I would not recommend buying this.

When going on a recent expedition, and needing some more luggage space, there's nowhere else to look! The additions of an external pocket, easily removable shoulder straps (compared with previous versions) and an internal elastic pocket, are all great features and make life easier than having just a large duffel bag to put things in.The only negative point, and it is a minor point, is that the new "recycled material" doesn't seem to be as durable as the previous versions, with it picking up one or two visible creases after its first outing, but that's it. Bag has held up well with both airport and helicopter travel. Although not water proof it is highly water resistant and I have had no problem with wet gear even when it is flown in a helicopter basket during rainy weather. Zippers are thick and robust and the bag can handle being thrown around. Shoulder straps are good but a pain to hook and unhook. Would be better if they were a quick clip like my MEC duffle. All together impressed with the quality.
