This the second pair of Chilkat I buy, the 1st pair were either the original model or II and both boots exploded on me on the same after +7years (i spent 3 yrs living south, so did no wear them during that period. I went back with the same model as they are very comfortable, waterproof and easy to put on/off and no too high. I just hope that NF improved their sewing process and rubber quality this time.

Dont' buy these boots from North Face. i had a pair - the rubber cracked. I understood there was a life time warranty - that doesn't exist anymore. there is only a one year warranty. before you buy these, just google and see how many people have experienced that same cracking. BUY from a company that will stand behind their workmanship and materials.

It’s lightweight and feel quite warm with a pair of merino socks around -10-10c. Inside the boots material feel snuggle and comfortable. Outsole is waterproof so it’s good to walk on shallow snow or muddy road. Haven’t try it on hiking in winter but I guess it’s good for a few km hike. I ordered a size 9 and it’s true to size no break in needed.

I purchased a pair of these boots some while ago, and put them on once in snow and 3-5 sdditional times in dry weather, totaling less than 25 hours of usage. To my surprise, I noticed botb boots cracked on top and the front rubber splitted from the top leather cover.I've been a fan of The North Face brand and over 25 years have purchased many of its products (clothes, equipments, Gore-Tex jackets/pants, tents, and many accessories), and have trusted its brand, but it was really disappointing these boots didn't hold up to its standard!I contacted the warranted department, and explained the issue, but since I bought it a while ago and don't have its sale receipt, I can't file a warranty claim. Best purchase i have done when it comes to snow boots, really comfortable I use them for work for the most part, when working in cold wet temperatures it keeps my feet warm and dry. The style of the boots gets you alot of compliments. Timeless design. Thank you The North Face.
The North Face company has the BEST snow boots ever! They keep both my feet and as well as my husband's comfy and warm in our mountain community. We have had record breaking snowfall here and our feet stay nice and dry. We will always buy North Face boots.
They do size small. I usually wear a size 9/9.5 and the size 10 is a good fit for this model.I was surprised by how light they are. They very comfortable and rugged. Wore them with temps around -5c to 0c and they were too warm (though my feet easily get warm). Gotta wait for winter to come back and put them to the real test.
I wanted a comfortable, easy-on boot for before and after skiing. I have some old Sorel boots that I love, but I wanted something lighter and smaller. As suggested by other reviewers, I got a full size larger than normal, which was the right choice. However, the insulation in these boots seems to bunch up towards the bottom when I put them on. Also, once they're on, the top portion around the ankle is very loose, and the sole is very stiff. I'll be returning these boots.
Chilkat Lace Waterproof Boots is the best hiking shoes for winter. As we all know about Chilkat model it's waterproof and comfortable for winter hiking. It has a good grip for the ice and the material last long. Highly recommend to winter hiking and daily use for snowy or raining day as well!
I bought these for my husband. We live on a farm and he is outside all the time. He has not stopped raving over how warm these are and how comfortable. I ordered 1/2 size larger than he wears and they fit perfectly. The leather really is nice looking and we are completely happy with this purchase.
