Well well well, long awaited for the new iteration of this jacket. Unfortunately I'm pretty disappointed in the quality and the thought of updating this jacket. Compared to the original gore-Tex, and then the switch to futurelight it was phenomenal. The pros of the old jacket was the compatibility with the Denali and the Nuptse Jacket alongside the futurelight technology to keep yourself warm and dry. The new jacket unfortunately costs the same but without the compatibility of said nupste and Denali. But yes, if you DO want the mountain jacket with that capability you can, but at the cost of once again paying the same price as the old jacket AND losing the futurelight technology and having to deal with DryVent which isn't as breathable as futurelight. The futurelight material is great, feels nice in hand. But the sizing is way too big. The sleeve is way too long. The medium thermalball down jacket fits me perfectly, but this jacket is way too big. I could wear two thermalball down jackets underneath and it still feels baggy. Definitely go down one size. Not really big fun of the horizontal zipper pocket, it's hard to operator one-handed.
Love the jacketIts perfect and light; packing it is a breezeIt doesnt zip and play well with the denali 2 hoodie fyi but overall that doesnt detract
Great product for the spring and very fashionable
Great purchase! Fits super big for a good baggy look. Super waterproof and light weight, not too many pockets but I pack light on the mountain anyways. Good shell for any snow conditions! Super stylish and a great wear into the city!
Love the jacket!
I'm a big fan of North Face Mountain Jackets, particularly the reprints of the ones from 1986 - 1994. I got my normal size in North Face, which is Medium and wow is the sizing way too big. It's completely off. I recommend sizing down at least one size from your regular size. Another thing that really bugged me are these pockets, they are awkward and no where near as good as the 1990 model.
I love the look of the yellow and black I just wish they had that nice green color that they have in hyvent
