Have had this jacket for a year now. I can't think of any situation where I thought I need an extra or different jacket to have. I do weekend hikes pretty much every weekend under all weather conditions. The jacket never let me down. Lately got a puppy and I wear the jacket on every single walk and again no issues at all. Waterproof performance is excellent straight out of the box and even after 5-6 washes (using special waterproof washing liquid) the jacket still performs as expected. The only situation where I thought I needed a "different" jacket was a windy (30-40 mph wind), rainy/showy day (-3C) where I was hiking and felt a bit cold after 5 hrs of being outside. Only thing I would suggest as an improvement is a clip/hook that holds the inner and outer jackets ... MoreHave had this jacket for a year now. Waterproof, descently warm I d say upto -5C. Fit could be better on the waist - was a bit too tight and long. Either double zipper or shorter and wider fit would ve helped.Arm pit was too tight.Otherwise good jacket. Very good looking

I use this as my everyday jacket. It's a good fit, not restricting at all. I guessing the other reviewer does own this jacket. The inner and outer coats join together very cleverly especially the little loop in the sleeve. Yes the hood could fitter but I've had no issue keeping it up, as it adjust in two places. All I think is missing is a small zipped breast pocket to keep keys in etc. like on my thermoball body warmer.

This jacket is brilliant. Ive been using it this week in tigne, (around mont blanc) skiing and to be honest im getting a little to warm. However when walking around it is great to keep you a comfortable temperature. The pitzips allow for a little heat to escape if you do get to hot. However it eoukd be good to have some pockets in the interior of the jacket.
Oddly enough I bought this jacket for skiing. While it may not be listed as one, it is almost identical to the thermoball snow jacket listed, this one was just on sale. Regardless I think it looks great and fits nicely. I especially like that it is a 3-in-1 making it warmer and more versatile
I bought this jacket for myself and the women's fit one for my partner for Christmas last year. I have lots of North face kit, and my experience has been that the kit is usually good quality. However I cannot recommend buying this coat. After 3-4 months my partners thermoball inner layer had become severely bobbled and worn, which just isnt good enough for the price. In the last couple of months my inner has too started looking damaged and worn out - and its not like I'm doing anything strenuous in it. I bought the coats because I wanted them to last, but they've barely made it a year. Really disappointed.
Peter Glenn advertises this jacket as the "Ski" version. North Face only has a "regular", or a "snow" version. So one would assume that the "ski" reference is the "Snow" version, but it's not. What makes this more frustrating is that the embedded video description and review of the jacket by North Face is for the "Snow" version, but what you get is the regular version. So frustrating, so figured I'd let you know.
Inner coat is warm, top layer is waterproof. But the hood is too large for me (I wear a small) and no matter how I adjust the pull cord at the back I can't get it to stay in place when it is raining. The hood is quite light so in windy conditions the hood is also blown out of place. So I've taken to wearing a hat to keep a dry head. In addition, it would be useful if the outer and inner layers could be attached to each other so when you hang the jacket when it is wet the hood doesn't hang away from the jacket.
Great jacket. Great fit. Not bulky. Wicks well. Great color. So flexible and versatile.
Bought it for my husband, who is 5'11 tall and weighs about 200lb. XL fits him perfectly.Outer shell can be worn on its own during not so cold season, and if you layer the down jacket under it, it's warm enough during the cold season. The outer shell is waterproof and very light.
