I knew I would definitely try this toner someday because I am impressed by The Ordinary's idea of simplicity in skincare, and I also just love glycolic acid in my routine. Unfortunately, I can't joke around with acids: my skin is thin, sensitive, with rosacea (dilated vessels on the wings of the nose). So, I use toner and any peels less often than the manufacturer recommends, and always follow up with other serums and balms with centella and panthenol to restore my skin afterwards. It's important to note that it may sting on damaged areas - my skin burned a bit during the first few seconds during the very first use. That's normal. But it's concerning if it lasts for a long time. The product has a small consumption, especially since I use thinner cotton pads (or I advise just using a divided cotton pad so that excess product doesn't get absorbed into it). Immediately after application, the skin feels fresh, but it's not completely weightless - there's a slight sensation of stickiness. How glad I am that I tried this toner! It's probably the lightest and most convenient way to take care of the skin. The key is to make sure there's no allergy to glycolic acid.

I originally saw someone talking about this product on TikTok. They were saying how good it is for scars, strawberry legs, and dandruff, as well as acne. I have always been one to use ordinary products so I thought I would give it a shot because I have really bad strawberry legs and really pink scars on my legs as well. I have been using this for about 2 weeks everyday and I can already see my scars lifting and my red bumps are getting better! I have also been using it on my acne and it has helped it did break me out at first until my skin got use to it but my skin does that with every skincare product. I have lessened my skincare routine to simply washing and using this then putting moisturizer on and my skin looks so healthy!! I would highly suggest reading the description that Ordinary had for this product before buying it so you know if it will hurt your skin or help you. I wouldn't recommend this if you have sensitive skin as it will most likely burn, especially if you're not okay with that all the exfoliaters that I have tried have but this one didn't unless it was on freshly shaved skin with open cut. I still have a ton of product left and I use it daily so I would say that it's a good price and it's worked for me! So if you'd like to lighten scars or get rid of strawberry legs I def recommend this product!! But please do give it time to work they aren't instantly going to go away but they do start to lighten fast!!

Great but read this for warning

I bought this product a little over a month ago and I did SOME reading about it beforehand including reviews. Since I did not have overly sensitive or dry skin and I have some discoloration I purchased it and used it TWICE in one week. I knew that results would happen more after continuous use so no initial improvement but no negative reaction. No stinging or irritation happened except a small patch the size of a quarter showed up on the bottom of my cheek/jawline area. I was unsure if it was because of the toner or due to something else but then after a little over a week, even after using healing products, the flakiness was still there but had improved over time. No other chemicals or exfoliants especially niacinamide, salicylic, AHA, retinol, vitamin C, and benzoyl peroxide. TOTALLY my fault and NOT the product because I had used a benzoyl peroxide cleanser before and I often can miss a spot when rinsing off cleanser at my jawline. So pleaseeee make sure you use this alone without any other chemicals (excluding hyaluronic acid) and don't make my mistake.

I think this is my new favorite The Ordinary product! I am shocked at how much this has done for my face! I'm medium with olive undertones who tans the second my skin gets sunlight, so sun damage spots on my cheeks is something I've been working on with lazer and sunscreen. This has been lightening my sun damage spots that I still need 1 more treatment for, so I'm literally shocked because only lazers have done this for me. It has also COMPLETELY cleared the pores on my nose of that the blackheads and sebaceous filaments that have been living there ever since I hit puberty, like 20 years, and nothing I've tried ever made them go away, not even hydrafacials. With that success, I started using it on the KP on my elbows and knees 2-3 times a week and I might cry about it. I've only had a couple AHA/BHA lotions that really helped, but never all the way and comes back immediately when I stop using it. My worst forearm's KP has receded back about 5 inches, and my elbows where I swear every pore is clogged is reduced by probably 90%. It reduced the KP on my other arm almost completely, and I see dead skin there sloughing off and little free hairs appearing every day now (which is good in this case). I saw a review suggestion on TO site to use in your underarms to make the smelly funk go away, so after a successful no reaction test patch, I have had the least amount of BO ever in my life only doing that once every couple weeks - and I use a relatively unscented natural aluminum-free deodorant. And lastly, this makes my skin SO SOFT. I make my husband touch my skin every time I use it. I can't believe how much this product has cleared, softened, brightened and reduced hyperpigmentation! I wish I had tried this sooner. I use it at night on a reusable bamboo pad, and it takes away any lingering dirt or make up too. I only use it 3-5 times to week because it seems powerful and at first I did not use it the days I use retinol until my skin was acclimated and nothing else flared up. The days I use both together I add a 2nd layer of Natural Factors + HA. Most importantly with this product, you absolutely MUST be wearing sunscreen if you are using this product - probably equally as important as using sunscreen with retinol products. I don't burn very easily, but the one day I ran out the door late for work with no skincare, my sunspots darkened and my cheeks and nose got a tiny bit burnt from just a 7 minute walk to work and back home at sunset. I already have a set AM and PM skincare routine with all TO products except wash and lotion, so my skin isn't too sensitive from a few years of building a regimen with acids and retinol, so I can definitely see this causing sensitivity and burning reactions if your skin barrier isn't healthy and strong. For that reason, I'm glad I added only this in and not other products so I could tell what the difference in my skin would be. If you have sensitive skin, definitely patch test before your full face and isolate it from any other strong products you also use.

It's now mid-May and my "Halloween decor" is at least 75% GONE! And I still have about a half inch of toner left in the bottle. My skin feels tighter and firmer. No, it's not going to tranform to peachy 20-year old skin, but I can now graciously age with MUCH nicer and healthier skin, and much more confident in my appearance. (I'm still in the professional working world.) Nothing wrong with getting older, but also nothing wrong with fighting and striving to slow down the aging process.I can't wait to see how my skin looks this time next year. I had decided to use it for my underarms as a deodarant and to lighten it, for my keratosis pilaris (KP) arm, and elbow dark spot. Of course it doesn’t make you STOP sweating as it’s a natural part of our bodies to sweat no matter what. However, the glycolic toner helps reduce and clear out the bad odors that come along with sweating. It definitely works as I use several different natural deodorants and compare them to this and this is one of the best for reducing or diminishing odor. This is definitely a “buy again” in our household.

This 7% glycolic acid toner comes in 2 sizes. The size I received was the smaller 100ml one but they also have one that's larger being 250 ml I believe. The ordinary states their products are for any and all skin types but I can't say how this would affect someone with sensitive skin so try carefully!

And its such a big bottle, so even better value! can use not only as an exfoliant for the face, but to lighten hyperpigmentation on the body because its such a big bottle at cheap price, so you dont need to worry about wasting money ;) it's also great on your underarms instead of deodorant, as well as to lighten the hyperpigmentation there. ive heard people saying they've used it on their scalp but I can't review it on that as I haven't tried.
